Hi,
A few weeks ago I received my iPhone X. Previously, I was using an iPhone 7 Plus which was running iOS 11.1 (it was probably running an 11.1 beta - unsure about the exact version) and decided to transfer its contents to the iPhone X, without really realizing it was still running a beta. Everything went well and I've been using the iPhone X ever since. The iPhone X is now running 11.1 (15B93), which should be a stable version. However, when I let the iPhone X poll for new iOS updates, it's only being offered iOS 11.2 beta 4, despite not having the beta profile installed on this device - or at the very least it's not listed.
What I think happened:
- The 7 Plus still had the beta profile installed
- Contents of the 7 Plus were transferred to the X
- Contents include the setting that points to the beta update channel (but not the actual profile)
- The iPhone X will poll the wrong channel (beta instead of stable)
I've tried re-installing and deleting the profile on the X, with and without rebooting the device in between attempts. I also tried resetting the network settings, all without luck thus far. For some reason, the beta profile is no longer listed on the downloads page.
In the meantime the 7 Plus has been updated to 11.2 stable, so in theory it should be possible to back up its contents and restore the iPhone X from that backup, but as I've already been using the latter as my daily driver for a couple of weeks, I'd lose quite of bit of content, which wouldn't be great.
Is there anything else I could possibly try? Any suggestions would be well appreciated.
Cheers,
Erik
