IAP or Stripe

Hi there,

We are building and app and want to use stripe for the payments in the app. Our only concern is it will get rejected by apple.

It is basically an app where you can tell others we you are betting on (sport bets).

The payment will be for a Premium membership where you will have access to other features in the app.

You will have access to expert betting tips, tip of the day, etc. can we use stripe for that or will we need to use IAP?

As far as I understod is Sripe only for physical goods and IAP for digital goods.

I think a premium subscription is in the digitals goods category, and we therefore have to use IAP.

Is that correct ?

You are correct, you most likely will need to use IAP.

One possible exception, you might be able to operate as a 'reader app' under guideline 3.1.3 if all you are doing is downloading and displaying this information:

3.1.3 “Reader” Apps: Apps may allow a user to access previously purchased content or content subscriptions (specifically: magazines, newspapers, books, audio, music, video, access to professional databases, VoIP, cloud storage, and approved services such as educational apps that manage student grades and schedules), as well as consumable items in multi-platform games, provided that you agree not to directly or indirectly target iOS users to use a purchasing method other than in-app purchase, and your general communications about other purchasing methods are not designed to discourage use of in-app purchase.
