Hi,
We have an app, which was published to App Store for a while. (min. supported iOS 9).
So, there was one version, let's call it A which was published and it is a legacy version now.
After that we publised a new version: B, the latest one.
On Majority of devices update happened normally (wherether auto update is turned on, or a user manullay selected to update the app using App Store app).
But there are some devices which had original version A, there was a prompt to update and we updated the app in App Store, but in reality app did not update on the devices.
App Store shows the latest available version (B), but after opening the app we get to old version (A).
Removing the app from device solves that issue, but why legacy version is detected as the latest one on App Store app?
Why update doesn't take place, even in case of auto update?
Here is an excerpt from our remote team:
We noticed that for some devices we cannot update the application to the latest version in App Store
.I have my iPad updated manually to the latest version B and I have iPhone that still sees B in the app store, but when I open that app the version is A.
And finally:
Also, today at the morning I noticed that in App Store "Update" button present vs "Open" that was last night after failed update. After clicking that button, App was updated successfully to version.
Mentioned above device is IPhone 6, it has iOS 11.2. No jailbreak. 🙂
Any ideas why there was an issue with App Store app?
App Store screen:
About dialog:
which displays old version on open action from App Store.
Best wishes,
