UI lag when nvidia discreet GPU active

I've already reported the issue through the bug/feedback app provided by apple, but I'd be interested to know if others are affected too.

Hardware :

rMBP 15' mid-2014 (2,8GHz i7, 16GB, dual GPU : iGPU intel iris pro 1,5Gb / dGPU nvidia Geforce GT 750M 2Gb, SSD 512Gb)

OS :

running MacOS 10.13.4 Beta (17E150g)

The whole UI lags severely as soon as the graphics switch to nvidia's dGPU.

It is NOT dependent on the dGPU software dependency.

Happens when FCPX 10.4 runs, when lateste Lighroom runs, even when Chrome or Safari feels the need to switch to dGPU.

Even switching between safari tabs becomes painfully slow and laggy (safari just hangs, then tabs switch). A youtube tab will stutter like **** for around 20 sec, then become smooth again. Pretty randomly.

Would it in any way be something to do with nvidia driver optimization vs. metal2 ?

Thanks for insights.

Is the resolutaion set to Scaled? I have roughtly the same configuration and have seen severe slowdowns with scaling verses Default For Display. I've also posted a bug report.

I've found that if I switch to Default For Display, then use zoom (control + scroll) to get around the same size as I'd get for Scaled, performance is okay.

Regrettably, this has nothing to do with running in scaled resolutions, as running on the Iris Pro on my 2013 with a 750M GT is much smoother at all UI settings than the Nvidia chip - there is a serious flaw in the graphics drivers for the 750M which causes severely degraded graphics performance the second it's triggered. This issue has been present since 10.13.0 - and Apple has done nothing to resolve this matter. Hardly the level of service consumerate with a machine which cost $2600 in 2013...

Same here with an iMac 2013 and nvidia 755M. I really doubt that Apple will ever fix it.
