Hi,

I created an app for book reviews, primary ISBN database is based on Amazon affiliate API. In my app for every book details page - I provide Buy now button linking to respective amazon website page to make a purchase. I neither sale or collect payment from users directly, I just facilitate my users to purchase book from amazon platform.

But App store rejected my app - requesting to remove Buy Now button entirely. Reason given was - Redirection to third party website via browser is against policy. I am really wondering what am I suppose to do in this case. With out affiliate marketing - there is no point I invest in building this app.

Any ideas or suggestions is highly appreciated.

You are violating the 3.1.1 and 3.1.3 guideline below. Change the "Buy now" button to "Get information" and direct the user to an Amazon page that provides information on the book (and a means to purchase it).

3.1.1 In-App Purchase:........Apps and their metadata may not include buttons...... that direct customers to purchasing mechanisms other than in-app purchase.

3.1.3 “Reader” Apps: Apps may allow a user to access previously purchased content......provided that you agree not to directly or indirectly target iOS users to use a purchasing method other than in-app purchase, and your general communications about other purchasing methods are not designed to discourage use of in-app purchase.
