New 2 step authentication

Curious if those running the older 2 step verification have turned the feature off and back on to try the new 2 step authentication with iOS 9 and OS X 10.11? The Apple public beta document doesn't say much about this so I thought I'd ask here. I'm running the original 2 step verification and would like to give the new version a go but not if folks hae been seeing major issues with the switch. Thanks in advance!

The new Two-Factor Authentication in iOS 9 and OS X El Capitan is not the new version of the feature you're already using, called Two-Step Verification.


I can totally see how people will get them confused though! 🙂


To quote from Apple's support page:

"Two-factor authentication is a new service built directly into iOS 9 and OS X El Capitan. It uses different methods to trust devices and deliver verification codes, and offers a more streamlined user experience. The current two-step verification feature will continue to work separately for users who are already enrolled."
