You can check the status of your program enrollment on the Member Center home page. Be sure to sign in to Member Center with the Apple ID you used to enroll.
Do I need a Mac to develop Mac apps for the Mac App Store?
Yes. You must have an Intel-based Mac running Mac OS X Lion or later to develop Mac apps for the Mac App Store.
What are the fees associated with the Mac Developer Program?
The Mac Developer Program annual fee is $99, and in local currency where available.
How do I join the Mac Developer Program?
You may enroll in the Mac Developer Program as either an individual or a company by visiting the Mac Developer Program page. Once the enrollment process is complete, you’ll be directed through the purchase and activation process.
Should I enroll as a company or as an individual?
Join as an individual if you are a sole proprietor or if you develop under your own name. Join as a company if you are a company, non-profit organization, joint venture, partnership, or government organization. A D‑U‑N‑S® Number from Dun & Bradstreet is required as part of the company enrollment process. Learn more.
What will I need to enroll in the Mac Developer Program?
Individuals enrolling in the Mac Developer Program will need:
- Legal name and contact information. Your legal name will appear as the “Seller” in the Mac App Store.
- A valid credit card for purchase.
- We may also require additional personal documentation to verify your identity.
Companies/Organizations enrolling in the Mac Developer Program will need:
- The legal authority to bind your company/organization to Apple Developer Program legal agreements.
- A registered legal entity name. This name will appear as the “Seller” in the Mac App Store. We do not accept DBAs, Fictitious Businesses, Trade names, or branches.
- Address for the company’s principal place of business or corporate headquarters.
- A D-U-N-S Number assigned to a legal entity. Learn more.
- A valid credit card for purchase.
I already have an iTunes Connect account to sell another media type (books, music, TV content, or movies). Can I use the Apple ID associated with that account to enroll in the Mac Developer Program?
No. If you currently have an iTunes Connect account to sell another media type, you cannot use the Apple ID associated with that iTunes Connect account to enroll in the Mac Developer Program. You’ll need to set up a new Apple ID and use it to enroll in the Mac Developer Program.
I'm already enrolled in the iOS Developer Program. Can I add the Mac Developer Program to my existing account?
Yes. Sign in to Member Center and go to the Your Account page to purchase and activate the Mac Developer Program. You can use the same Apple ID to manage your Mac apps in iTunes Connect.
Can I enter an alias/nickname when I enroll?
No. You must enter your legal first and last name when enrolling in the Mac Developer Program. Do not enter an alias, nickname, or company name as your first or last name during the enrollment process. Entering your legal name incorrectly will cause a delay in the approval of your enrollment.
Can I enroll as an individual and have my company appear as the “Seller” on the Mac App Store?
No. To have your company name appear as the “Seller” on the Mac App Store, your company must be recognized as a legal entity and you must be enrolled as a company/organization. If you are a sole proprietor/single person business you must join as an individual and your legal name will appear as the “Seller”.

Who should enroll in the Mac Developer Program on behalf of my company/organization?
The employee enrolling must have the legal authority to bind your company/organization to the Apple Developer Program legal agreements. This can include your company's founder/co-founder, executive team member or senior project lead.
Is there a Mac Developer Program for students? Do students receive any discounts?
No, we do not currently offer a student Mac Developer Program or student discounts. Students enrolled at a degree granting higher education institution may be invited to participate in the iOS Developer University Program if their institution is enrolled in the Program and their Course Instructor invites them to participate.
