Gathering Required Information for Troubleshooting Apple Pay In-App Provisioning or In-App Verification Issues
Hi, You're here because you've had issues with your implementation of Wallet Extensions for Apple Pay In-App Provisioning or In-App Verification. To prevent sending sensitive credentials in plain text, create a new report in Feedback Assistant to share the details requested below with the appropriate log profiles installed. Gathering Required Information for Troubleshooting Apple Pay In-App Provisioning or In-App Verification Issues While troubleshooting Apple Pay In-App Provisioning or In-App Verification, it is essential that the issuer is able to collect logs on their device and check those logs for error message. This is also essential when reporting issues to Apple. To gather the required data for your own debugging as well as reporting issues, please perform the following steps on the test device: Install the Apple Pay and Wallet profiles on your iOS or watchOS device. If the issue occurs on Mac, continue to Step 2. Reproduce the issue and make a note of the timestamp when the issue occurred, while optionally capturing screenshots or video. Gather a sysdiagnose on the same iOS or watchOS device, or on macOS. Create a Feedback Assistant report with the following information: The bundle IDs App bundle ID Non-UI app extension bundle ID (if applicable) UI app extension bundle ID (if applicable) The serial number of the device. For iOS and watchOS: Open Settings > General > About > Serial Number (tap and hold to copy). For macOS: Open the Apple () menu > About This Mac > Serial Number. The SEID (Secure Element Identifier) of the device, represented as a HEX encoded string. For iOS and watchOS: Open Settings > General > About > SEID (tap and hold to copy). For macOS: Open the Apple () menu > About This Mac > System Report > NVMExpress > Serial Number. The sysdiagnose gathered after reproducing the issue. The timestamp (including timezone) of when the issue was reproduced. The type of provisioning failure (e.g., error at Terms & Conditions, error when adding a card, etc.) The issuer/network/country of the provisioned card (e.g., Mastercard – US) Last 4 digits of the FPAN Last 4 digits of the DPAN (if available) Was this test initiated from the Issuer App? (e.g., yes or no) The type of environment (e.g., sandbox or production) Screenshots or videos of errors and unexpected behaviors (optional). Important: From the logs gathered above, you should be able to determine the cause of the failure from PassbookUIService, PassKit or PassKitCore, and by filtering for your SEID or bundle ID of your app or app extensions in the Console app. Submitting your feedback Before you submit to Feedback Assistant, please confirm the requested information above is included in your feedback. Apple Pay Domain Verification: .txt Extension Confusion
Hi all, I’m running into a confusing issue with Apple Pay domain verification. Apple’s documentation says to host the verification file at: https://yourdomain.com/.well-known/apple-developer-merchantid-domain-association And the portal itself seems to expect the file to be served with .txt extension during verification. My first verification passed, but subsequent checks are failing — and I’m wondering if this mismatch is the cause. Should I Keep the .txt and configure my server to serve it at both paths? Would appreciate any insights or official clarification. Thanks!

cant add Apple Pay Mastercard test card
I recently created a Sandbox account and successfully added an Apple Pay test MasterCard to the sandbox Wallet to run a test. Yesterday, I created a different account and tried to add a MasterCard on another device, but I received a "Card device limit" error. I then deleted the card from the original device (where it had been successfully added) and tried to re-add it, but this device also failed. I was able to confirm that a JCB card can be added, but I need to test with MasterCard. What should I do to resolve this?

Payment Services Exception Unauthorized
We’re attempting to call the Apple Pay Web Merchant Registration API using our Platform Integrator flow and consistently receive 401 Unauthorized, despite successful TLS/mTLS. We exported the Private Key from keychain access in PKCS 12 format We converted both the private key and the signed certificate to PEM format We created a merchant id We used the converted keys to send requests to the API We received { "statusMessage": "Payment Services Exception Unauthorized", "statusCode": "401" } we also tried curl with the original p12 file and also had no luck. What could be the issue ?

Unable to retrieve secure element pass after adding to Apple Wallet?
I am adding In-App provisioning to my app. I am able to access the Apple Pay Sandbox and I have successfully tested adding a secure element/payment pass to Apple Wallet. However, once the pass has been added to the wallet, I can not access or retrieve the pass from my app. I have confirmed with the PNO that the PNO Pass Metadata Configuration in the testing environment include the correct metadata for "associatedApplicationIdentifiers" and "associatedStoreIdentifiers". Does anyone know why I am having this issue and how I can resolve it? Steps used to access pass in Apple Wallet I am unable to view the pass when I attempt to access it using the PKPassLibrary function as follows: let library = PKPassLibrary() if #available(iOS 13.4, *) { // This returns an empty array library.passes(of: .secureElement) } else { // This also returns an empty array library.passes(of: .payment) } // This returns an empty array too library.passes() Steps used to add pass to Apple Wallet These are the steps I follow to add the card: I create a PKAddPaymentPassRequestConfiguration I use this config to instantiate a PKAddPaymentPassViewController. I provide the nonce, nonceSignature, and certificates to my PNO along with the card data. I receive the activationData, encryptedPassData, and ephemeralPublicKey from my PNO and create a PKAddPaymentPassRequest using this data. I add the pass to Apple Wallet. In the addPaymentPassViewController callback, I am able to view the pass data from the .didFinishAdding pass: PKPaymentPass? variable. I am also able to see that the pass has been added from Apple Wallet app. I am not able to access the pass using PKPassLibrary().passes() at this point. I am not able to access the pass at any point after adding it either.

Apple Pay Test cards not added to Wallet
For Apple Pay testing, I have tried the following: Sign into the Sandbox Account via Developer Settings: Settings > Developer > Sandbox Account Keep your main Apple ID for everything else Add Test Cards to Wallet: Try adding the test card numbers (MasterCard and Visa Debit, as we support only those) Apple provides in their documentation. Unfortunately, none of them are added to the wallet. All the time it gives 'Could Not Add Card'. I tried on devices with iOS 18+. Can anyone advise on this? Thanks

Wallet Extension show tips "Cannot Add Card"
When integrating the Wallet Extension, after clicking my app icon from the "From Apps on Your iPhone" list, I encountered the message: "Cannot Add Card. 'XXX' is not responding. Wait a few minutes and try again. If the problem continues, contact the card issuer's customer service" instead of the configured login page appearing as expected. What could be causing this issue, and how should I resolve it?

Hello, we are developing in app provisioning of our American Express network cards. After clicking add to apple wallet in our app, I launch the PKAddPaymentPassViewController and click next. It loads for a few seconds and then I get: [<private>] ProvisioningOperationComposer: Step '<private>' failed with error Error Domain=PKProvisioningErrorDomain Code=5 UserInfo={PKErrorHTTPResponseStatusCodeKey=500} Does anyone have any insight on what this error means?

This error occurs in Apple Pay Wallet In-App Provisioning Flow for Credit / Debit Cards When the data received from the PNO (Visa) is passed to PKAddPaymentPassRequest this error is seen in addPaymentPassViewController, in the finalize stage. Docs provide no clue as to what could be wrong. iOS 18.2.1 XCode 15.2 Error description mentions "unsupportedVersionError" Is the pass version not supported? Is the wallet version not supported? Is it an app implementation error or error in the data received from the PNO?

In-App Provisioning Error
We have implemented In-App Provisioning, but when I start the tokenization process, I receive an error before the terms and conditions. We are testing with a version of the app on TestFlight. The error message is: Could not add card. Try again later or contact your card issuer for more information. Could you please help me?

Help with "500 Broker Service Response Exception" during Apple Pay In-App Provisioning
I tried to test In-App Provisioning in Production for our whitelisted app through TestFlight (Internal Testing Track) and we received the following error response from PassBook during the provisioning attempt, Could you please guide us? Obtaining documentation for In-App Provisioning after receiving entitlement
We are an issuer attempting to implement In-App Provisioning of Payment Cards leveraging Mastercard MDES and have successfully obtained our entitlement from Apple, but have not received the documentation titled "Getting Started with Apple Pay In-App Provisioning, Verification & Security". The latest copy I have found has been via Scribd for a version 3.0 from June 2020. I've tried contacting Apple Support and the In-App Provisioning Entitlements group but have had no luck. Thank you!

Apple pay closes silently
During our Apple Pay integration testing, we encountered an issue that we're unsure how to resolve. Below are the steps we followed: Created an Apple Pay sandbox test account for Raul and added a test card, following the documentation here: https://developer.apple.com/apple-pay/sandbox-testing/ Opened the Golfmanager platform and initiated a booking. For payment, selected Apple Pay as the method. Raul clicked the Apple Pay button on the Golfmanager UI. He scanned the QR code using his iPhone, logged in with the test account. Apple Pay began validating our merchant identity and retrieved the wallet token to proceed with payment. The Apple Pay payment sheet appeared on Raul's iPhone, showing the card details and the amount requested by Golfmanager. Suddenly, the Apple Pay sheet closed unexpectedly, and we have no insight into what went wrong or what might be missing on our end. Unable to Complete In-App Provisioning – Error 40456 on enable Endpoint
Hello, I am developing an Apple Pay and In-App Provisioning integration for the bank where I work. All entitlements are properly configured, and we are integrated correctly with our Payment Network Operator (PNO). We are using PKAddPaymentPassViewControllerDelegate to handle the provisioning process. The flow progresses as expected up to the Terms and Conditions screen. However, after accepting the terms, the process fails with the message: "Could not add card." Our internal systems have not logged any request failure from Apple at this step, which makes it difficult to pinpoint whether the issue is in the PNO integration, entitlement configuration, or something else. We are currently testing in a production environment on a physical device (not using sandbox), and provisioning flows are initiated through our iOS app using PKAddPaymentPassRequest. Could you please help us interpret error code 40456 and identify what steps we should take to resolve this issue? If needed, we can also provide the full device log and additional details. In-app provisioning, UnsupportedVersionError when submitting PKAddPaymentPassRequest with test data from TSP.
Hello, I am setting up a feature for my company's banking app that allows users to add their payment/debit card they have with us to the Apple Wallet on their device. We have the in-app provisioning entitlement setup and configured in the app and configured with our banking partner/TSP. We are able to manually provision production environment cards via the Wallet app. I am using test card data from my TSP. I send them the two certificates, nonce, and nonce signature data and am given activationData, encryptedPassData, and an ephmeralPublicKey that we then set on an instance of PKAddPaymentPassRequest. We call the handler on the delegate method that is called with that request object and get an error: The operation couldn’t be completed. (PKPassKitErrorDomain error 2.) Looking at the PassKit library shows this is PKUnsupportedVersionError - Unsupported pass version. Our TSP hasn't been super helpful in troubleshooting this issue and just said we should contact Apple as it is an Apple error. I am trying to figure out if the issue is with how we are implementing the feature or with the test data itself given to us.

System canceled add payment pass - Apple Wallet
Hello All - I'm attempting to enable my companies app to add credit card to Apple Wallet. Part of our app enables customers to generate new virtual cards on demand and I'm attempting to enable the ability to add these cards to the Apple Wallet. Everything seems to be working all the way to the final stage of the process where I get a PKPassKitErrorDomain systemCancelled and I can't seem to find any clues as to why the system is canceling. For context - I have the com.apple.developer.payment-pass-provisioning entitlement. I have both the Wallet and In-App Provisioning capabilities enabled in the App. I have defined a PKAddPaymentPassViewControllerDelegate class that implements both the generateRequest and didFinishAdding methods. I'm leveraging PKAddPaymentPassViewController in SwiftUI by using a UIViewControllerRepresentable implementing class that returns the view controller properly when makeUIViewController is called. I build a PKAddPaymentPassRequest object and ensure that it is properly filled with encryptedPassData, activationData, and ephemeralPublicKey. As a user I'm able to go to the virtual card view, open the instance of PKAddPaymentPassViewController, select the destination for the card, see the Add Card information. I get to the point where the view tells me it's contacting the card issuer and then I get an error message "Could Not Add Card - Try again later or contact your card issuer for more information" with a "Set Up Later" button. I then get the system canceled error. I should mention that I'm able to add these virtual cards manually via the Apple Wallet. The process works similarly but requires me to provided an OTP to conclude the process. This flow works and I have active cards in my wallet. I'm having a very hard time figuring out how to try and debug this issue further. The only error that the system returns is the system canceled notice. Any insight into where I might be missing something or how to debug the issue further would be greatly appreciated. Any thought on how I could debug this further would also be greatly appreciated. Device selection on Apple Pay In-App provisioning is incorrect
I am encountering an issue with the in-app provisioning flow using PKAddPaymentPassViewController. Specifically, when presenting the controller to allow users to add a pass to Apple Wallet, the device selection screen is showing all the devices, even after setting the primaryAccountIdentifier on the PKAddPaymentPassRequestConfiguration. Here's the context: I'm using PKAddPaymentPassViewController for in-app provisioning. I provide a valid primaryAccountIdentifier in the configuration. But after adding the pass, if i print back the primaryAccountIdentifier it displays some other value different than the identifier i had set(Example masked identifier: FAPLMC1GB000000066aa4xxxxxxxxxxxa744f16axxxxxxxx). The provisioning flow works, but the device list shown to the user includes all the devices (e.g., Apple Watches and iPhone even though it is already added to Apple Watch or iPhone).

Card provisioning not working from Apple Wallet Extension
We have developed Apple Wallet Extension for our App. The in-app provisioning for the card is working. However when we try to add the card from Wallet extension it gives error saying "Your issuer does not yet offer support for this card".
