You have to hold down the option key while clicking restore, then select the .ipsw.

If you're running beta versions of OS X, like 10.10.4, it won't work.Try redeeming the code in a stable version of OS X and then pause the download there. Once it is redeemed, you can download it from any OS X versions in the App Store > Purchased.

Macbook Pro (early 2011) restarting continuously El Capitan

I upgraded to El Capitan on an extra Macbook I have and it hasn't booted up once, it keeps restarting about 80% into the load process. Has anyone else seen this or know of a fix? I might restore from my backup.

Tried that sadly - I even tried restoring again - it works fine with any network taht doesnt require a cert storage for authentication - simple password entry works but thats it.

Restoring from backup not working

I installed 9.0 with no issues, when I went to go to restore form backup it showed the 2 backups I made, I tried both of them but they both said cannot restore form backup. I reinstaleld the firmware again and now my backups are not evene visible in my icloud account. Is anyone else having this issue?

my backup went through after many tries. However, the apps never ended up fully downloading. I tried to reset all setting and content and restore it all over again, and now it is constently saying that it cannot backup from the icloud.

I installed 9.0 and tried to restore from an icould back up. I just downgraded to 8.3 and was able to restore form my icloud backup with no issue.

I would think you could from an older version to a newer... (8.x to 9.x for exmaple).I usually do a an Option -> Upgrade instead of an Option -> Restore so that way I keep all my Apps and Settings. Much easier that way. Have you tried that?

Found it. It was under the purchases tab in the App Store. I'm used to seeing the builds show up under updates, so I never checked there.

No Service

In the past week, my iPhone 6 (Verizon, iOS 8.4 b3) has lost the ability to connect to cellular. Restoring to 8.4b3 and 8.3 haven't helped. Sometimes shows full service but with 1x in the status bar and can't actually connect to make a call or text or any data. I believe it may be a hardware issue, but I wanted to see if anyone else was experiencing this?

Sorry.. Im running on iPhone 6 Plus on Telstra (Australia). As a note, I installed this as an upgrade install and not a restore install.. Maybe has something to do with it.

watchOS 2b1 wiped Activity data

Has anyone else experienced the Activity data completely gone when you restore from a backup?
