Bluetooth Issues
Lost bluetooth connectivity with iPhone yesterday. Was close, but not near, to a friendly WiFI location. Fiddling with options on watch or phone made no difference. Was that way for 30 min or longer. What fixed it was a watch reboot. Power down-> then power up.

Captive Network websheet failing when proxy enabled
Hi there,I'm seeing an assertion failure in the iPhone Captive Network WebSheet when a Wi-Fi network is set up with an automatic Proxy PAC URL.The result is that the web sheet doesn't even make a request to the identified captive network redirect page (we can see this from the server side) and shows a blank screen to the user, followed eventually by an alert saying Error Opening Page / Hotspot login could not open the page because the server stopped responding. We also see no request to the Proxy PAC URL during this process.I've enclosed the relevant logs below and also raised this as rdar://21356077 (and https://openradar.appspot.com/21356077 )Anyone have any clues? Thanks!AdamThe assertion failure appears in the iPhone logs as follows (assertion failure on line #12)Jun 12 11:58:49 iPhone configd[32] <Notice>: Captive: [CNInfoNetworkActive:1744] en0: SSID 'tc-te-24' not making interface primary (no cache entry) Jun 12 11:58:49 iPhone configd[32] <Notice>: Captive

Strava/BlueTooth issue?
9 beta 1 breaks Strava, Kinetic, Garmin Connect and Wahoo Fitness on iPhone 6+. Apps will launch but crash immediately. Appears to be Bluetooth-related e.g. Wahoo seems normal until you try to connect (via bluetooth) to a sensor, then immediate crash. Fact that four different apps, from four competing companies, are all broken suggests (to me, anyway) that the problem is on Apple's side -- they've changed something that, before, was commonly used and accepted.

Reply to iOS 9 Beta battery life
Now I've been able to run my iPhone 6 128GB with iOS 9 beta 1 for 40 minutes straight in standby mode (just viewing some e-mails from time to time, mobile data enabled, all background stuff disabled with not even 1% loss on the battery. Battery saving mode is also disabled. Don't really know what I did.. All I did was viewing the log files through the device viewer in Xcode. Disconnected the cable after a while and ended up where I'm now.. Before viewing the logs in Xcode I rebooted the phone also. But I did not change any settings in the phone from where it was before so I don't really understand what's going onSoon it's actually 50 minutes without any battery loss.. still at the 97% as it was when I disconnected it from my Mac. Seemingly the background activity going on before on the home screen also suddenly stopped.I'm going to spend my weekend looking into this matter a bit deeper, just for the pure fun of it

Reply to Battery overspending IOS9
Well, you probably missed the keynote. One new feature is a way better energy management. Thats great news since they bring the lessons learned from the watch over to iOS.Ask your self as dev - is implementing a feature like this done with just typing code and run it once in the simulator? Nope, it needs fieldtesting.Welcome to the beta.As for our testequipment it seems to apply only to devices that are known to benefit the most from this feature. iPhones 6 as the only devices eating their battery. Thats cool, because deep discharge once in a while helps the battery to live longer.// running gagGlad you didn't install the beta on a device you use everyday, aren't you. 🙂// jedes Jahr das gleiche 😀

Just for reference.... installed Beta 9 on Ipad air 2..... going for 2 days so far at 50%. (use in the evening for about 2 hours)Installed Beta 9 on Iphone 5C for 4 days (NOT BEEN USING - but Notifications come to phone) it is at 50% after 4 daysIpad Air 2 was UPGRADED from 8.4 (beta 3) the Iphone was complete restore as new phone.I phone 6 plus I have BETA 4 (OS 8.4) on it (this is my main work phone) I get about 2-2 1/2 days on a charge.I did notice after installing any new iOS, the battery does drop about 10-15% in the first hour..... but usually becomes stable.Just a personal observation with my units.

How can I make a great document thumbnail?
My app uses thumbnails as preview icons for documents.I build the thumbnail as an image, by capturing a screenshot of the UI. But I don't want the screenshot to reflect the specific layout of a particular device or orientation. It's not difficult to force the thumbnail capture to a specific fixed size. But the traits of the device still influence the appearance. So my iPhone-saved documents look different from my iPad-saved documents, thanks to size-class settings in the storyboard. My options appear to be.1) Programmatically adjusting everything in the UI to the standard layout. Capturing, And then undoing that change.2) Building a parallel (hidden) device-independent view controller and storyboard, for this single purpose.3) Rendering on a childView controller which I have forced to a set of fixed traits. The third option appears to be the least work, but I am not succeeding in transplanting the main view to this child controller.Any help would be warmly received!

Yahoo Mail Password Crashing iPad
Have iOS 9 installed on iPhone and iPad. I also have Yahoo Mail accounts on both.iPhone - Lots and lots and lots of pops up telling me my password is incorrect, try entering again. I just ignore them and Mail is pulling fine.iPad - Would not pull Mail so I went into Mail settings and started re-entering my password for Yahoo Mail. For discussion purposes, my password contains these characters......ica#Y......When I enter the Y, Settings crashes. 100% of the time.So...any thoughts on a) why this is happening and b) why only on the iPad.

Reply to Can a Safari developer download iOS 9 beta?
Safari developers aren't Apple developers. You need to enroll to apple developer program and pay the quote. But, if you aren't an iOS developer, you should NOT install a beta version on a non-testing terminal.I've known all betas since iOS 4. I know what I'm talking about. Things like no battery (1-2 hours of battery life), no iTunes app, or Phone app not working, all these things can happen on a beta. And, also, is not a warning for a beta 1. For example, my problem with iTunes app happens with at least 3 beta versions, if I remember correctly, beta 4, 5 and 6 of the same iOS.

Reply to Location problem in watchOS 2?
I find that using the Map app on watch seems to help. It forces watch to get GPS from phone, then location things begin to work.

Reply to Downgrade watchOS 2 to 1.0.1
This is obvious now, but historically its been easy to downgrade the iPhone from beta releases despite the same dire warning from Apple. It was not obvious that this time the warning needed to be taken seriously after years of false threats.
