Resubmission vs Appeal?

Even after 5 years of creating and submitting apps, I still do not understand the appeal vs Resubmission process.

I recently had an app rejected for 4.2 (Minimum Design Functionality) which frankly I can't believe.

I have never had an app rejected for that, ever.

So rather than appeal. I added more 'stuff' and facts. It was an educational game.

So is the proper channel to resubmit the app with the new information?

Or to file an appeal with App review?

Did the rejection say to re-submit? If not, then file an appeal. I'd resist voluntary re-submits...no promise anything will happen.

"I added more 'stuff' and facts."

That usually means the binary has been changed and you need to resubmit not appeal. If not you are violating this:

2.5.2 Apps should be self-contained in their bundles, and may not read or write data outside the designated container area, nor may they download, install, or execute code which introduces or changes features or functionality of the app, including other apps.

It just got approved thanks! (I was actually expecting it to get approved the 2nd time around)

The app was a little on the weak side. I won't disagree with App Reviews initial assessment.

I may have stripped this one too bare.

It has been my conclusion, that the simpler I make the game the better it does.

And the easier the game is to solve the better it does.

I added more 'education' to the app, and a basic scoring system.

But thanks! Yeah I don't bother with logins, any 3rd party API's other than Admob, and no more IAP's.

Not worth it anymore (at least to me)

Nice simple educational apps that are fun and simple to play. And you can learn something as well. Infact, I have learned a ton making them which is cool.

But after reading the rejection, I realized it was a pretty soft rejection. Asking merely to add some more value to the app, which I gladly did.

I have never had any problems with app review. I have lots of app rejected, but everything has been fair.

Thanks for the followup and good luck w/it in the store.
