I installed XQuartz 2.7.11, but it does not succeed in setting the DISPLAY variable. I tried to report the issue on their bugzilla, but there I only get "Sorry, entering a bug into the product XQuartz has been disabled." 😟
Is XQuartz dead? What are we going to do without it?
I had XQuartz installed already and it still works.
Turns out I did not reboot after installing XQuartz. Once I rebooted XQuartz gets a proper DISPLAY value, and ssh forwards it as expected. I am still a bit worried about the disabled bug reporting - not a good sign for the future of XQuartz.
