Preview app can't open images (jpg, png, tiff...)

I got the solution:

After manual terminating the finder process, the preview app now works fine for all file types.

I have the same issue and terminating the finder process doesn't fix it. I can't even select a jpg in prieview.

Rebooting fixed it the first time for me.

I have the same problem with .jpeg and .png files. Also, while broken, expanding an image preview in reddit, Safari downloads the image and expands the preview. Rebooting seems to fix it for a while. It seems to be a file association error?

I have not been able to get any of the above suggestions to work for me. Preview is may be broken until the next beta release.

I just open iBank and the tiff images on the check register are not showing. I wonder if this is a premissions problem which we cannot check out now.

Beta 5 things are back to normal

I still have the problem in Beta 5.

By default:

• images files are opened by Safari.
• videos files are opened by iVi (my iTunes converter)

And :

• I can't do copy and paste between different apps
• I cant' drop a file in a window (Tweetbot for example)

Killing the Finder doesn't resolve anything, I just need to restart to fix this for a while. It will be back a few hours later…

I had this strange bug in beta 4 and in beta 5. I dont' understand what is its source.
