Of the 3 betas I've tried thus far (I skipped 1) this is the worst of the lot for battery life. I did do the update and restored from previous, so could try a configuration as a new device. But haven't changed any operating parameter I'm aware of.
Is it just me?
Update on battery life. I second that ensuring that the phone and watch are on the same beta is vital. It also took a full unpair/repair of the watch. As an added bonus I set "reduce motion" in the watch settings to on. I've had the watch on for two hours today, with little to no interactive use, and it still reports 100%. Previously animating my constant time checks alone sapped the battery. Yesterday, with all of the above done and regular interactive use, I had 50% battery after 16 hours. Well done Apple. Let's not lose the progress! :)
This did the trick for me. I went from 100% battery loss in four hours yesterday, to 9% battery loss in 5-1/2 hours today.
12 hours and still at 63%
I seem to be having really bad battery issues starting yesterday. Nothing changed with the watch as far as I know but the first week or so with Beta 5 has been plesant but all of the sudden I can't last until noon without it dropping below 10%. I have tried everything I can think of but the battery issue is just insane...

Same here. Beta 5 started good, but since a couple of days its out of battery after a mere 5 hours. This is a huge step back from the 1 version and absolutely not ready for primetime.
I'm not sure if the fact that getting the local weather didn't work in any beta so far had to do with it.

Nope. It isn't just you. I've had the worst battery life ever from Beta 5. Every time I install a new beta, I set it up as a new watch after unpairing and repairing. I usually test under a base load with no external applications running. In fact, I use only the watch face itself. Yestereday, my watch went dead from a full charge to 0 in slightly more than 4 hours. I recharged it, and it went dead again after 4.5 hours. This morning I unpaired it, and reinstalled the Beta from scratch. Down 30% in 90 minutes with nothing running except the watch face.
Rick, many thanks for posting this. After a number of days of having to re-charge at least once if not twice during the day this set of instructions loosk to have fixed the battery issue on beta 5. I am now 1.5 hours in to usage and only down 3%. Before this would have been nearer 15%. Anyone with battery issues on beta 5 - follow Rick's method to the letter. Cheers
Fully changed 7:30AM - 3PM empty I had to charge it... thats really bad for a Beta 5... tought this is near final!
