Over the air to 9.0 GM seed

Has anyone had thir device recognize that the new update to 9.0 GM seed is available and ready for download? The update is posted, but I don't want to do a complete wipe an install, just want to do it via over the air method.

Same here. Waiting for it to show up on my devices.

Same here. I figured if it's not out by the time I get home today, I got the download and will do a wipe and load. Need to update my phone before I can update my watch.

I thought GM's are not pushed OTA?

Hi Atlanta,

You can download from the dev website and alt-click the "Update" button in iTunes instead of the "Restore" button. If it works, your device won't get wiped, just updated.

It's still a good idea to make a backup to iTunes first though. 🙂

Max.

Doing it this way ends up with an unknown Error 3014 for me.

Perhaps ecovery mode will solve that. Will wait a bit till I go on heavy arms.

Any way you can post a link to the download? I will not have access to my developer account until tomorrow 😟

Thanks!

Worked great. Thank you.

I just updated it, iMessage still sluggish

Just a reminder, the Developer Beta, Public Beta, and the GM/Official release contain some differences such as where the updates come from. Because of this, Apple do not provide OTA updates that will switch between them. To switch between them, download the the image version wanted, and option-click Update or Restore in iTunes.

Grilled my iPad that way. For some reason I cant update any of my devices

still no OTA for my Air and iPhone 6 in Germany - also iTunes reports all the time error 3014 when trying to update... :-(

This isn't the case. Apple has allowed you to go from beta to release version many times in the past. I don't know if they will this time or not, but there is certainly no policy that they don't.

Max, I thought Apple noted OTA would be available. Am I missing something in your response here? Carl

I hadn't intended to imply that OTA would not be possible - I'm interested to see what happens with that. I posted to dispell the OP's notion that the iTunes route necessitated wiping the device in the process of updating, which it only does if you alt/shift click "Restore" and not "Update".

I'm sure they will, but you will probably have to wait until it is released to the public before you get an OTA update. If you want it now, you'll need to go the download and iTunes update route.
