Requiring a paid developer account to post in the forums would eliminate this.
This is what happens when anybody and his brother can post.
I miss the old days and the old forum software. 😟

Third party developers are directly responsible for the success of the iOS platform. It really is appalling how badly we're treated here. You'd think with the untold billions of dollars we've made for Apple, that they could afford a few staff to provide moderation and full time support. But nope.
Agreed.
We can't even post screen shots anymore.
That's one reason I don't visit the forums as much as I used to.
I find it difficult to describe a problem only in words.
Good grief! Now we're getting spammed in Arabic!
I'm not reporting them anymore.
I have better things to do.
And they're only happening more now...what a wasteland. Talk about nobody minding the shop...
I'm thinking the same thing myself. As long as these forums are a free for all, no matter how much reporting
anyone does, it won't stop. Since the 18th, I personally have reported a minimum of 30 spammer posts.
Most of them disappear next day but by that night, more arrive with a new user name and the same
nonsense.
I find it funny in a way, that App Review guidelines require any app that allows users to post content
in a public or private forum also maintain live moderation. All the while, these forums do not.
Just reported another 11 spam posts. I'm done. Apple can either fix it or give it over to the
spammers. It just isn't worth the time to visit here in the current state.
Edited to add:
I doubt it will make a difference but I've just filed a bug report #24012871 about this issue.
Here's a laugh...
Apple paid JIVE Software (again) for the minimally configured spam-magnet dev forums, but JIVE's own forums never suffer the same fate...

Someone at Apple apparently signed off on the package and has no idea what they paid for.
Bump.
I agree. And it is a small handful of people who actively and usefully respond to questions here. (I'm looking at you, KMTHyperjunkKing).
I create software in the Apple environment because I know they have the best technology, I love the elegance of their API (and now Swift), and the company has strong core principles in respect to how technology is appropriately used which align with my own, but *phew*, it sure can feel like an unrewarding grind at times.
Bump. Apple MUST do something about this and before the end of the year.
It is irresponsible and a disservice to the developers who have spent their
time and money supporting the Apple ecosystem to allow this nonsense to
continue.
I see today's spam storm is still hanging around...with over 8 pages of it, just on 12.28. When a wound festers this bad, bandaids in the form of delayed deletes won't help - it's time to amputate and put this package out if it's misery.
Mostly lurker here.
Bumping because I can't agree any more.
If you do find time to report, try flagging them as 'profanity' instead of spam 😉...the mods tend to jump a bit higher for fear the legal teams will pop a vein.
BUMP.
And the spammer is back... Nice job moderators.
Hi, everyone. I guess I don't have to say anything because I agree 100% with what all of you are saying. 🙂 I guess I'll help you all out in reporting those messages; hopefully the stream of abuse reports will convince someone that this is totally not a superficial problem!
By the way, wouldn't it have been nice if this had been nipped in the bud, when there were just a few of these spam posts floating around a few weeks ago?
It certainly looks like almost all the moderators are on vacation considering the recently spam infestation.
The same appears to apply to a reply, I wrote a day ago, that is till under moderation (it had 2 html links).
Its also kind of anoying that all levels and points got reset with the forum change, especially for us that are infrequent posters, these counts would otherwise have been helpful in decieding wheter a post is likely to need moderation.
