Unable to Check for Update

Trying to download Beta 2 for Apple Watch. I get the "Unable to Check for Update" because I'm not connected to internet error message.

I've rebooted my AppleWatch with no luck.

Any suggestions?

Most likely overloaded servers. Check in a few hours.

+1 have the same error...

I'm re-pairing the watch, this happened the last time I believe.

I'm not sure if Apple is using a different set of Software Update servers for watchOS beta updates than it's using for everything else, but this is getting to be a common issue. Best suggestion is to wait until later in the day or tomorrow, and it should start working. If not, try unpairing/repairing, as suggested by Chris Denny above.

Also, make sure you have the latest version of the watchOS Beta Profile, as mentioned in this post.

I am still unable to even install the first beta, after reinstalling the profile it just always fails to install. I've not tried impairing my watch from my phone

Well, in my case, unpairing/repairing didn't do the trick. I've reinstalled profiles on both watch and phone. I'm still getting unable to check for update, not connected to the internet.

The error I am getting when trying to check for updates is:

Jan 26 10:35:41 Bretts-iPhone Bridge[241] <Warning>: -[COSSoftwareUpdateController handleScanError:] - error: (Error Domain=SUBError Code=3 "Update asset query failed" UserInfo={NSLocalizedDescription=Update asset query failed, NSUnderlyingError=0x13e29a440 {Error Domain=ASError Code=21 "Unable to copy asset information" UserInfo={NSDescription=Unable to copy asset information}}})

Radar: 24337138

Same error saying I'm not connected yet Siri on the watch works.

Removing and reading the profiles did nothing to change this.

Also tried unpairing and repairing with no luck.

Thoughts guys?

Does not matter if I start fresh or from backup.

I was getting that too, but now I'm getting stuck with beta one not being able to be installed even though they just released beta 2, my phone won't even download it

Me too, it won't even let me download the beta 2, because beta 1 is unable to be installed.

Looking at my firewall, the iPhone is attempting to hit this site:

If I hit that with a web browser, it says:

File not found."

Looks like the update file isn't on the webserver yet... or it was and then was pulled.

Same here, same error. Could it possibly be a regional CDN issue? I'm in Raleigh NC right now (queried from Verizon tower and from home wifi to no avail).

<Warning>: -[COSSoftwareUpdateController handleScanError:] - error: (Error Domain=SUBError Code=3 "Update asset query failed" UserInfo={NSLocalizedDescription=Update asset query failed, NSUnderlyingError=0x15fc680c0 {Error Domain=ASError Code=21 "Unable to copy asset information" UserInfo={NSDescription=Unable to copy asset information}}})

Makes sense, nothing I've done on my end makes any difference at this point. I'll just wait it out and see what happens.

It'd be nice if the error message was actually accurate. "because you are not connected to the Internet" is patently incorrect and misleading.
