iCloud restore failed 9.3

I just had my iPhone 6 Plus replaced for a faulty logic board, and updated the new device to 9.3. When the backup was complete and the phone booted up, the device continuously prompts for my Apple ID password, and says Verification Failed. Apps, data, iCloud content won't restore until the password is accepted. There's really no way around this. Reverted back to 9.2.1 for now but I would like to find a way to restore from my 9.3 backup. Anyone else encountered this?

Thank you, thank you, thank you, it worked!

When I got the "To finish setting up iCloud, enter the Apple ID Password" prompt after restoring from iCloud, I turned the phone off and followed your instructions. How did you come up with this workaround?

Thank you!

Sseems to be working fine.

I am having the same problem, and filed Radar 24648568.

It happend with both my itunes and icloud backup so i tried it on beta 2.( thinking it was a beta 3 issue

Since it was also the case on beta 2 it has to be a backup issue.

A full restore fixes it so i think the verification file or something like that has an issue.

so installing a backup and updating should fix the verification file. this was found by trial and error.

Started on thursday and it was fixed on saturday

Thank you for posting a solution that seems to be working! My problem is that I am on the public beta 3 and don't have access to beta 2. Do you know how I can get that? I've been trying to solve this for 4 days now and it's driving me crazy.

it dosen´t work for me, but unfortunatly Find my iphone is still activated, so i will get an iTunes Error 3014. I´m at 9.3 Public beta 3. Can´t do anything with my phone now.

Same problem here. Can't restore on ios 9.3 beta 1 beta 2 and beta 3 from iCloud backups made on iOS 9.2 stable, 9.2 beta, and 9.3 beta and can't restore from iTunes either.

I've been using a blank iPhone since I ever got this ios 9.3 on my machine. Very disappointed.

Never mind. I found it by searching for "IOS 9.3 beta 2" + Reddit.

Thank you very much for this solution!

I put my iPhone 5s in DFU mode and tried to restore to the 9.3 beta 2 ipsw (gsm, for my phone) but itunes says it cannot restore because the firmware is not capatible 😟

i've tried the 5s beta 1 and 2 ispw's from reddit (not on the paid developer accunt), is anyone able to share their ispw...?

EDIT: It worked! I finally got those ispw's to work and my media is now finally restoring. Thanks!

Can you please explain me just what does the ispw means?

like i am looking online where to download ios 9.3 beta 2 ispw but it just shows me ios 9.3 beta 2 ipsw. does this make sense??

I solved it in another way (iphone 6 plus 9.3 beta 3)

The main problem has been to cannot restore the iphone, because the authentification was requested, but not possible.

So I've logged in to icloud.com on my mac. There I've first resetted the iphone, and then erased it from the account and from "search my phone".

Then i've restarded the iphone, initialized it, and choosen to restore the backup from icloud...ready!!

No stuck, no data loss

Likewise... I am also experiencing the same issue following a iPhone 6 device hardware failure and subsequent warranty replacement. I attempted iCloud and iTunes restore. Both restore methods produce iCloud and Apple ID verification failures. I made multiple restore attempts turning off find my iPhone, location services, restrictions, logging off Apple ID and iCloud before restore, changing the time, etc... No issues with factory restore to 9.2 but not having my data isn't acceptable. Backups require the device to be 9.3. I too am able to access my Apple ID and iCloud on other iOS, OS X, and Windows devices. I changed my passcodes and noticed a different error with a wrong passcode. With an incorrect password, the error states the ID or passcode is incorrect. If the correct passcode is entered, the verification failed error is produced. Obviously the device is able to communicate with Apple servers and the issue is with the beta software and apple's backend. I think the ball is in apple's court on this one.

Navdboor, thank you for figuring out the work around. I dropped my phone this mornng, shattering the screen. Brought it to Apple, something went wrong during the process of replacing the screen so they gave me a new phone. When I went to back up, I couldn't since my backup required 9.3. The guy at apple store said they arent trained with 9.3 and pretty much wished me luck. Anyway, restored again, downlaoded 9.3, restored the usual way and then everything went haywire with the verificaton issue. Did everything you said and I've got no problems now and the phone is restoring everything and accepted my icloud password with no issues this time. Thanks again! You saved me quite a bit of stress!

Thank you.

It Helped to resolve the issue.

I am so glad that I don't even know how to thank you.

I thought that i lost some of my infomation for ever but thanks to you, I saved everything now. 😉

Have a good day.

P.S

I will take care of spreading over your solution plus crediting you!

I'm sorry, this is very confusing to me and I don't understand - please help! I downloaded the ios 9.3 beta 2 ispw and its on my PC. Now what? I'm actually not a developer (I shouldn't have signed up for these betas), so a simplistic step-by-step would be super helpful for me - thank you!
