Beta 2 has fixed the Photos app for me.

same here (MBP mid 2010)

Same issue here on a 2010 mbp (hi-res).

Running from the terminal, it spits out :

"Assertion failed: (ctx), function CIEAGLContextCreate, file /Library/Caches/com.apple.xbs/Sources/CoreImage/CoreImage-327.6/Framework/misc/CIEAGLContext.m, line 261." right before aborting trap 6.

Photos runs fine on another (newer) machine.

Same here on MBP mid 2010

Mines also a MacBook Pro (15-inch, Mid 2010), and the crash report is showing the same com.apple.xbs assertion failed line that rgr is getting. Interesting detail, there is no /Library/Caches/com.apple.xbs folder when I check

Mid-2010 17-inch having the same problem.

I have the same problem on a Mid 2010 MBP

Same here on a MBP 2010 (runs fine on MBP 2012).

Same here, same machine.

Same issue - Mid 2010 MBP.

Application Specific Information:

Assertion failed: (ctx), function CIEAGLContextCreate, file /Library/Caches/com.apple.xbs/Sources/CoreImage/CoreImage-327.6/Framework/misc/CIEAGLContext.m, line 261.

Same issue - Mid 2010 MBP. Works in safe mode.

Same issue - Mid 2010 MBP.

Same problem for me (Mid 2010 MBP). Somone at macrumors.com reported it works when in safe mode.

So, on the evidence here it is a problem with a particular MBP. Photos is running well on my late 2012 27" iMac with 10.11.

I have other issues with Photos but no crashing, tempting fate.

mid 2010 15" MPB photos and several other apps crash with the same error. Hopefully it will be fixed in the next build... guess that is why they call it beta.
