Aloha Macho Man, I have exactly the same problem. I have an app, Hula 101, that is an instructional app based on short clip videos of Hula steps. If one types in Hula 101 into the search bar, lo and behold, there it is, first in line in the iPhone apps. But, if one merely types Hula, or hula in the search bar, garbage results, with Hulu and Hola predominating. My first Keyword is Hula, so one might rationally think that the search engine would find the app. Not so, apparently the gurus that created the search engine decided that no-one would actually look for hula, so they must be mistaken and are probably looking for Hulu instead. Brian, a senior advisor for the Developer Support, advises me that he cannot comment on the workings of their arcane search engine, but clearly it is as bad as Google's, trying to guess what the user actually wants. One can force the search engine by entering "Hula" , instead of Hula, but one cannot educate the whole world with tricks to circumvent search engine algorithms. My conclusion is that my app is just not "trending" or popular enough to score high enough on the display ratings.
