OS X 10.11 SPEED IMPROVEMENT! :)

Hello! I installed 10.11 last night, and I've noticed a considerable speed improvement when comparing it to Yosemite. I have a late 2011 Macbook Pro, and OS X 10.11 is definitely going to be worth the upgrade when the full version is released!

Has anyone else noticed this difference?

For sure, even on my 2015 MBP 15"... epsecially in graphics operations like Exposé.

That's good to hear. I just bought a 13" MBP a week ago, and I was disapointed with the GPU preformance on standard OS animations and transistions. Not as buttery smooth as we would expect from Apple. I think I'll wait A bunch more builds before putting it on this MBP though. (I will try 10.11 on my old 2007 15" MBP when I get the chance)

Never seen my 2012 rMBP operate so smoothly. Not with Lion, not with ML, not with Mavericks and not with Yosemite. I'll live with the bugs and occasional crashes, cause I'm afraid I can't go back to Yosemite after having a taste of EC.

I had already installed 10.11 on a Thunderbolt external. The TB external was idle with Mavericks. I used SuperDuper! to Smart Update from 10.10.4 so no clean install for sure. 10.11 running rather well so just took the plunge. My late 2012 27" iMac is now running 10.11 and is fine so far, having opened Photos, Aperture, Numbers & Pages etc. It does seem faster, especially when opening images in Aperture & Photos.

my 2010 MBP is also running extremely well with the new beta. I hope the final version is just a smooth.

I imagine we can credit much of the apparent 'snappiness' to the fact that pretty much every pixel is going through Metal now.

Agreed. On a 2011 MBP and a 2014 Air I haven't seen a faster and more fluid UI since OS 9.

OS X 10.11 SPEED IMPROVEMENT! :)
