sticker pack icon sizes

It looks like any size is allowed, I just can't get it to build to device. 😟

i mean the app icons - not the actual stickers 🙂

i put some in a test app, but it won't build - even to simulator. says:

The stickers icon set or app icon set named "iMessage App Icon" did not have any applicable content.

According to Xcode:

27 x 20 pt Messages

32 x 24 pt Messages

1027 x 768 pt App Store

29 x 29 iPhone Settings

60x 45 Mesages iPhone

29 x 29 pt iPad Settings

67 x 50 Messages iPad

74 x 55 Messages iPad Pro

Did you have to add all the app icons in order for the stickers app to run in the simulator?

No, just add a single sticker to a pack and it will run.

Question, what size should the stickers be? And the sizes posted above, are those for the app icon? Seems like that is a lot of sizes for the app icon.

The sizes for the actual stickers are listed here under Sticker Packs.

yes you need all those for a FULL set of app icons. you don't NEED to use all those to build the app though.

I've made a photoshop action that saves out all the rectangular sizes from a single image. Saves a lot of hassle. The 29x29 and 1024x768 are same as normal iOS apps and there's a great photoshop template that helps with those.

another question i have - that i haven't seen an answer for in the WWDC videos yet - will we be able to sell these same as any other iOS app in the store?

same 70/30 split? same 99cent and up pricing?

Yea Justin, that page is rather confusing. It says max size can be 206 x 206 But then right below it says you should include @3x images 300x300 to 618 x 618. So lol what size should the stickers actually be?

Of course, Apple isn't dumb like Facebook. Facebook include stickers and gave everything for free. Luckily for us, Apple enjoys making money! This is going to be all about Paid Sticker Packs. Btw, what size do you have your actual stickers in?

Yes you can sell the stickers.

From the videos it appears that if you are just selling stickers (as in, they are not part of an app with an extension) they will only appear in the Messages app store, accessed from Messages.

However if a user send a sticker to another user, a small bit of text with a link to the Messages App Store appears with the sticker, letting the recipiant also get the sticker pack. Kind of amazing.

It is very amazing! I am so hard at work on this. I have a personal goal I want to reach with these sticker packs. I am interested to see what other people will do as well!

I'm going with 206x206 @3x I think this means a photoshop file at 618x618 pixels Trim transparent edges, then export to png and make sure each file size is less than 500kb. Sounds like a great way to make some money - even as a sideline to a game. You could make your game characters into a sticker pack very easily...

Interesting Choice, I wonder what size the stickers Apple showed off are. I was going to go with the medium size myself. Also how many stickers does Apple recommend go in each pack?
