sticker pack icon sizes

the requirements i've seen are - build @3x and the devices will scale down appropriately.

i don't think there are any restrictions on how many per pack.. but a balance between value for money and loading time seems like 20-30 would be about right...

just my opinion on that of course. i guess theoretically, you could put one single sticker in the pack and charge $999... to go to an extreme !

The Japanese App LINE which created this whole sticker Economy, sells 40 stickers for 1.99. I think I will stick to that pricing because it makes sense. Lol charging 999 for a single sticker, that would be crazy =)

I haven't played with animation for many years now, but I would like to try some animated stickers 🙂

Photshop CC doesn't seem to have an easy way to export APNG files? am i missing something? Can't find any useful info in google on this...

I can see how to create a frame by frame animation sequence in the Timeline window, and then export - render video, but exporting to PNGs just gives me a folder full of single frames png files!

Anyone know the best tool (or a plugin?) to create an APNG ??

I believe you can create a "Sticker sequence" in xcode, using single frame PNGs to create an animated sticker. Check out this WWDC video - the presenter demonstrates it: https://developer.apple.com/videos/play/wwdc2016/204/

Quick Question, to get the sticker app icon to show on device, do you have to add all 16 sizes of app icon to see the sticker icon? Because right now I have @3x and @2x and I don't see my app icon in the drawer.

I too am a bit confused but it isn't that tough to do considering what a noob I am! I see where it talks about providing the images at 3x the size but then just below it talks about setting the sticker size for the sticker pack but it is listed in points? Wouldn't it make more sense to do everything in points to ensure consistency across devices? Thanks in advance to whomever can clarify this for me!

Note

Always provide @3x images (300 x 300 pixels to 618 x 618 pixels). The system generates the @2x and @1x versions by downscaling the @3x images at runtime.

In Xcode’s Attributes inspector, set the Sticker Size for the entire Sticker pack. The system lays out the stickers in the browser based on these sizes. To best match the browser, use sticker images of the specified size. The Sticker Size defaults to Medium.

• Small. 100 x 100 points.
• Medium. 136 x 136 points.
• Large. 206 x 206 points.

well i guess it depends on which device you are using,

i have been able to get a sticker pack on an iPod touch running iOS 10 beta and have it show icons in the messages app draw thing -

i didn't need to add all the icon sizes to do this - but i think there could be some bugs around it in Xcode still (beta!) because occasionally it fails to build with icons in - i take them all out and it builds ok.

Very odd. It is indeed a bug!

1. When running on iPad Pro physical device or iPhone 6s Simulator, no icon showed up for me

2. Then I decided to run it on the iPhone SE in Simulator and the icon shows up =)

Anyway, hopefully they fix the bug before we have to submit.

If you're seeing bugs, please get them written up at bugreport.apple.com, ASAP. Hoping that a bug gets fixed won't actually get it fixed. 🙂

Indeed. I filed a radar the other day. Need to properly categorise what is happening here though. Right now I'm not 100% sure.

What does this eror message in Xcode8 mean..."simplified". Any fix ideas welcome. This happens for all devices and on every test build.

Asset Catalog Complier Error:

" The stickers icon set or app icon set named "iMessage App Icon" did not have any applicable..."

I have a dozen stickers and imessage app icon 1024xsomething already setup and ready to go.
