I fully agree and prefer the preview option in Mission Control to allow quick switching between spaces. The Mission Control Desktop n tabs at the top of the screen probably help with stuttering, but they're not as efficient as the Yosemite version.

I stumbled across this one as well. Its breaking the workflow. Works better with the previews immediately viewable.

I too would like the spaces to always show their preview. I admit I'm being a bit of a curmudgeon who doesn't like it when things are different, but it legitimately makes it more difficult for me to switch spaces. The target I want to click now can now move out from under the cursor, which in my opinion is a serious UX problem that you should never do. Basically the cursor has to hit the label for the right desktop on the first try, because otherwise Mission Control will shift around which desktop preview is where. It's quite frustrating.

I'd be happy with being able to change this via a hidden preference you can toggle using the defaults terminal command. As long as it's there. I guess for the time being I'll file a bug report in the hopes that the Apple devs will do something about this.

I too would like to see an option in to turn the previews always on. For me the new style makes my workflow slower.

You can get previews by dragging the mouse to the top of the screen. It drops down showing

you the preview windows as well as the labels above them.
