New iOS 9 beta 2

New iOS 9 beta 2 will be today? What do you think?
I hope it will be today ^_^

I hope it will be tonight

Since Tim Cook reorganized the iOS dev team (just around the time iOS 7) it's been less predictable. In some ways this is welcome, since it would seem updates were intentionally kept from distribution to conform to a specific schedule in the past, but on the other hand we've all seen how many more things are breaking in the beta phase than before.

Though, aside from battery and iCloud issues (which are significant) iOS 9 Beta 1 has been one of the most functional of almost all the 1st Betas.

it has been surprisingly stable/hickup free

I recall Tuesdays as well. However and whenever I do hope it's soon as well because the battery life if iOS 9 beta 1 is a killer lol.

I think the first beta is usually on the Monday of WWDC. Then all subsequent beta's are released on Tuesday, usually 2 weeks later, but sometimes around beta 3, 4, and 5, there's a 3 week break. I don't think there's ever been a beta 2 that wasn't released 2 weeks after the first beta since about iOS5 or so.

When is comes to iOS 9 Beta 2? Today, nothing has come

I disagree. Cannot print, cannot empty combined Mail trash, blue screen reboots, screen freezes with inability to interact with device, random watch disconnects. I know it's a beta but I'd say one of the buggiest.

I think the final product will be quite nice, however.

I agree, this is a very buggy beta, I have also experienced random Watch disconnects. Also it freezes then Springboard crashes whenever I plug my phone into my Mac to use with Xcode. Also many other little bugs, and quite a few crashes. In fact my phone just randomly went into recovery mode, thankfully I had everything saved in iCloud. The battery life is the main problem for me. My iPhone 6 only lasts about 3 hours, with almost no use. I really do hope they release a new beta today.

I don't know what device you are on, but this is the least buggy beta 1 I have been on. I think I started around iOS 5 or 6. I printed Saturday to a Cannon printer, mail has been no problem, don't have the watch. My big problems have been poor battery life, cannot purchase new apps through app store, and unlocking phone with Touchid brings up apple pay. Otherwise, it's very stable for a beta. Hopefully today things will get much better

iPhone 6, btw

yeah - i'm not saying it's ready for general release, but as far as the betas have been in recent years this seems (in my limited use) almost like a b 2.5 than a b1. i have noticed that performance on 5 is better than 5s in many respects, but after a couple days i found it stable enough to install b1 on my primary phone. using it all the time it's clear there's a lot of work to do, but in the past i've had builds that i had to force restart just to get out of apps. this time (for the most part, not 100%) this hasn't been the case. ideally b2 drops today and has substantial performance improvements (and fixes the home button/today tab sensitivity issues)

10.11 does strike me as very beta, however.

best,

d

I would agree with this timeline. Usually about 2 weeks in the first phases, and then longer as more people are invited to the public seeds, and the builds become more stable.

6 Plus and iPad Air (original). I updated when installing b1, perhaps those that feel this is smoother than in past years wiped and installed fresh????

How did you print? On both of my devices, once the print sheet is open and printer selected, there is no actual print button that I see.

Beta 2 just out.

Though not yet appearing via software update, but is in dev centre.

I just option clicked update in iTunes as I normally do and printed as smoothly as on iOS 8(though it was a little laggy between screens)

Only problem I had was with my MacBook Air going through a kernal panic with El Capitan until I deleted a system file.

Downloading beta 2 now, hopefully it is pretty stable!
