Big Sur crash restart loop after update

So after updating my MacBook Pro 16 inch , it starts up , then once I log on , it just completely turns off and reboots

I have the same issue. I am able to use the laptop in Safe Mode but it is super slow.
I also have the same issue. I had to backup all my files via airdrop in safemode and then send it back to Catalina to fix it. Going to hold off until beta 6 comes out since this seems to be a thread today
You're not alone. I'm experiencing a similar if not the exact same error on a MacBook Pro 16. I've found a similar entry on the Macrumors forums - no one seems to know what the exact cause is or what a workaround or fix might be.
Same!!!! Nothing can be done.... fan starts to go into hyperdrive and then just restarts
Same here fan starts to go into hyperdrive and then just restarts
I have the same issue on a MacBook Air 2017. I was able to do a restore and it reverts back to beta 4 without losing anything
I have the same issue after have upgraded from big sur beta 4 to beta 5.
Same here on a Mac mini. I recovered using my last backup .
I wonder if there is anyway to reinstall the beta 4 waiting for the beta 6
Same issue. Lasts about a minute and chews through battery (on a Macbook Pro 15), then crashes. In safe mode everything is extremely slow.
Same. Updated now in kernel panic loop
I have the same problem. Any suggestions to solve it? Safe mode crashes in the similar way.
Same issue for me. Mac book pro 16 inch, reboot after entering pass word on start up. Safe mode has the same issue, but happen's faster.
It appears to be caused by Symantec/Norton. @RM9981 outlines a potential solution here: https://developer.apple.com/forums/thread/657905.

It didn't work for me, but it doesn't hurt to give it a try. My guess is that Apple is going to have to release an update on their end that forcibly removes whatever Symantec remnant tries to start the endpointsecurityd process. Kind of like what they did with Zoom around a year ago. If you can, report the issue to Apple in the Feedback Assistant; right now it won't let me log in so I can't get a report in. Hopefully if as many people as possible report the problem they can fix it quickly.
Same issue, had norton antivirus installed but had uninstalled it a few weeks ago, but perhaps it left some tendrils here. Safe mode works enough to post here, but outside of safe mode it's a constant panic after login.
This is what worked for me. I did a clean install of Catalina. Once installed and working good, I downloaded the Big Sur public beta profile. I installed that and installed the latest Public beta. Once installed and working properly, I then downloaded and installed the Big Sur Developer Beta profile and installed Big Sur beta 5. It started up perfectly with no kernel panic.
Same problem when upgrading from beta 4 to beta 6. Have no one solved this yet? :(
Same issue. Any resolutions yet?

Here’s what worked for me.
unplugged all TB and other accessories.
reset smc.

neither of those two had an effect on their own.

turned off Mac. Held right shift key when powering back on. Startup disk app loaded.

unlocked mac hard drive with password from that app. Clicked restart button from that app.

Mac rebooted and didn’t kernel panic and after two password prompts I was back in business.

hope this helps someone
Had the same issue, I tried the usual things and it didn't work. Finally this is what solved it for me:
  1. While mac is ON, long press on shutdown button until mac is turned off

  2. Now press again to turn on (this will start recovery mode)

  3. From the top bar choose Startup disk

  4. Choose the disk and unlock it with the password

  5. Click the restart button

After that I could log in as usual
Was having same issue but rellect process worked.
Might think twice about installing beta 9
solution posted by rellect worked perfectly for me. Thanks!
Thank you . Going to the recovery and then startup disk and unlocking it worked for me for beta 11 .
Having this same issue since the latest public release (Beta 10 I believe.) On 2019 16" MacBook Pro, login and get about a third of the way on the status bar logging in then fan kicks in and Mac abruptly turns off. I can login via Safe Mode and also can pull up Recovery Mode. Tried a clean install of Big Sur beta and still have the same issue. Tried the Recovery Mode -> Unlock Startup disk trick a few times and still no go. Reset SMC and others to no avail (just took longer before it inevitably flared the fans and shut off.) Anyone have any other solutions that worked? Been without the use of that MacBook Pro for a week now (safe mode is super slow).
Hi all,

I have the same issue and when I go in the recovery mode, I just have a Grey page.

Please can you help me ?

Thanks
Happening same with my Macbook Pro 16.
No trick worked for me, any solution?
