Issues With El Capitan Beta 2 Straight Off The Bat

All

Just installed the latest beta (beta 2) and upon reboot noticed that the doc was showing errors on Apple apps (Mail, App Store etc). When clicking on the app it showed that the app was 'incomplete'.

Upon a 2nd reboot there is no dock showing at all. Disk utilities show all ok on the drive so doesn't look to be anything there.

Just wondering if anyone else is seeing these issues immediately upon install completion ?

For reference this is on a 2009 Mac Pro

Thanks

The actual error I am seeing when clicking on any OS app is 'You can't open the application {application name} because it may be damaged or incomplete'

For what it's worth, I had a similar issue (same error message) with one of the devPrev's of Yosemite - needless to say, the only solution was a fresh install of DP1, followed by upgrading to DP2 (and then DP3 in my case).

Agreed, that is all we can do and at least rules out any corruption from an upgrade. DP1 of El Capitan just completed now going with the update to DP2 from the app store again, will report back in a few

Ok, El Cap beta 2 installed clean and with none of the issues seen with doing the update that I saw above so thats a plus. However now when I log into the App Store and click on Purchases I see the 'This iTunes account is not set up to use Family Sharing' error, which is certainly is as it was the account I've been using all along. Tried logging out of icloud and restarting but still seeing that error for now. Other than that the slowness has disppeared and apps are working as expected

Glad to hear that the fresh installation has fixed the slowness and app weirdness.

When you say you logged out of, and back into, iCloud do you mean from within the App Store or in the iCloud System Preferences?

Within System Prefs

Try the "Store" menu item in the App Store. There is a sign out option there as well as the option to view your account.

Looks to be some serious issue. I logged out of the store menu in both App Store and iTunes Store then iCloud (sys prefs) and rebooted. Upon reboot I logged back into the App Store separately and in purchases it states 'You have not yet purchased any apps' !. Even though I can clearly see all purchases on the other machine running El Cap beta 1

I have raised a bug on both this App Store issue and the El Capitan beta 2 upgrade issue (slowness, unresponsive, corrupt apps etc)

Good - they're always especially keen to learn about App Store bugs.

I can confirm though that my purchases have remained intact after updating to DP2.

I hope that the issue with your account is speedily resolved.

Ok finally got around this issue by rebooting multiple times between icloud logouts/ins. Now able to see purchases without issue. I did however run into the Facetime issue where the Mac Pro would not allow calls to be made from it even though on same network with same icloud account. The old enable/disable multiple itmes with reboots in between resolved this as well. So a few of the older bugs from Yosemite coming back into play (will raise another report on this one as a potential regression).

Lastly, also seeing Keychain kick out an error for iCloud if you DON'T enable Kaychain when setting up the iCloud account. Not sure if others are seeing this one but this is persistent unless you setup the iCloud account in Sys Prefs and DO NOT check for it to setup everything straight away. Instead uncheck the (setup mail, notes and find my mac) on the initial login screen and instead enable them one at a time after the fact. Will also raise a bug on this 🙂

I remember the same keychain bug from Yosemite. I'm in the habit now of temporarily disabling it whenever updating or migrating now...
