Will apple watch series 1 work with ios 14 ?

I have the same question and the post that is being refered to is about the compatibility with beta versions of iOS 14. Now iOS 14 is GA, before updating I would like to know if my Series 1 will still be compatible with my iPhone on iOS 14

No, it definitely will not be compatible. The iWatch series 1 and 2 are not compatible with ios14 and later. After upgrading my iPhone to ios14 my iWatch series 2 would not pair with my phone. After reaching out to Apple support, I was told the only way my series 2 watch would be compatible was if I went back to an earlier ios. Bad news: that stinks. Good news: Time for an iWatch upgrade. 😁

I have no clue where Wahmcat got their impression but Apple Watch Series 1 is completely compatible with the iOS 14. I am using my Apple Watch Series 1 with iOS 14.4.2, the latest version of iOS as of 4/10/2021 12:32 PM PST. I just paired my Apple Watch with my iPhone yesterday and it's working perfectly fine with any features that watchOS 6.3 does support. Support for iOS 15 seems likely as far as I'm concerned unless Apple changes some core way iCloud data is stored and/or communicated between iPhone and Apple Watch.

My series 1 watch stopped pairing with my updated IOS seconds after completing the update. Imissirian please share any tricks involved in getting these 2 still connected.

I just tried to upgrade to iPhone 12, but it wouldn't pair with my series 1 Apple Watch. My watch does work (just re-paired it) with my iPhone XR running 14.7.1. I returned the 12 and am back on my XR. I can't say this makes any sense, nor is it good policy to orphan the old watches. I will stick with my XR indefinitely as long as my watch keeps ticking! I just hope I don't accidentally brick my watch with an iPhone patch some day....

I have a iPhone 12 and my watch series 1 still works just fine with it even after the newest iOS update. I personally keep my phone and watch updated with the software for each at all times.

So I have the Apple Watch one and it didn’t want to pair to my iOS 15 but after trying a few times it accepted being paired as a new watch and not a back up. It took some doing and some apps don’t support it like AccuWeather. As they need a more up to date version but you can reply to messages fine and it works like a basic Apple Watch which is far better than the competitions I’ve tried
