Cannot download iOS 10.1 Public Beta on new iPhone 7 Plus

I had an iPhone 6 Plus until yesterday running iOS 10.1 Public Beta 4 and backed it up to iTunes and iCloud regularly.

I just got an iPhone 7 Plus and need to update it to iOS 10.1 beta as well so I can restore from backup, but I keep getting a 10.0.3 is up to date message when I try to download and install the Public Beta. I have correctly enrolled my new 7 Plus on the beta site and downloaded the correct beta profile (deleted and re-installed several times, in fact), but it just does not see that there's a beta version out there ready to be downloaded.

Unfortunately I do not have immediate access to a Mac to try updating it to 10.1 via iTunes as suggested by many on various forums, but hope to use a friend's Mac to try it tomorrow.

In the meantime, does anyone know how to fix the OTA download issue? I see online that many others who have upgraded to iPhone 7 Plus are having similar issues.

All - I just wanted to update you on the steps that I have taken and the advice that I received from both Apple support and Developer support. Unfortunately, I do not have a direct answer but I was informed to report this as a bug via the bug reporter on the developer page and as feedback from your phone. This way the engineers see the problem and hopefully address this issue sooner rather than later.

I believe you do need to be a paid developer to get access to beta restore and ipsw files. The ipsw files can be found online via various forums and it's legitimate in that only Apple signed versions can be downloaded, but to my knowledge, Apple does not authorize distribution of the files outside of their developer pages. Put another way, once you get the files, they will install and be signed by Apple correctly, but the way to get the files is not official unless its through a paid developer account from what I understand.

I have the same issue on my iPhone 7 plus, unfortunately... after numerous reinstalls and reboots of the public beta profile, it keeps saying software is up to date (10.0.3), both via wifi as well as iTunes... somebody found a fix in the meantime?

Having the same issue.

I don't have a problem waiting for the final version of iOS 10.1. My biggest issue is I cannot restore my iPhone as iTunes is telling me that the software on my phone is too old and to update.

So I don't have any of my data!!

Same problem. iPhone 7 Plus. T-Mobile. Tried multiple deletions and reinstall of the profile. Looks like it's a 7 Plus issue. Any way to report this to Apple?

I have been trying to figure this out for 20 hour. No one has an answer!!! Why?

Hey Friend. Did anything work for you yet?

so only way to do a tethered update is to pay for the developer access or wait for apple to fix this.

That *****, I cant use my new iphone 7 plus till then since it wont let me do a restore.

same issue with my iphone 7.... I'm gonna wait to 10.1 final then

i am experiencing the same issue from my iphone 6s to iphone 7 .i tried everything , even i erase my iphone 6s but still not beta update for iphone 7 ?

i did tried again to download ios beta on my iphone 6s and it works perfect ,

i think the platform of the ios beta 10.1 no t ready or not compatible for iphone 7.

the final update for customer will be available on tuesday 25th .i think we should wait ????

what system software version did u update from to go to 10.1?

Had a question.

Since i want to restore to my new iphone 7 Plus. Can i downgrade my existing phone from beta 4 to 10.0.3 through itunes and then restore my new phone (which is already on 10.0.3)

Will it still keep my infomation, apps, etc in place?

ok i have iphone 7 plus from the first day and got nothing problem..all betas is install very good along with the last beta 5

but yersterday i bought another iphone 7 plus and its not working its very strange how come?why the first iphone 7 plus works good with betas and the second that i just bought cant find the update?

i thing apple change somthing in the newer iphones....maybe the first one got connect to the servers few weeks ago then its some how register and the new phones cant register no more lolll i really dont know very weird!!!

You have to have matching iOS's on your new phone and your back-up. Your new phone comes with a release version of iOS and your back-up has a beta version. Do a fresh release install and start up as a new user. Then, on your phone, download the beta and install. Now you can do a restore from iCloud or iTunes. One more thing, developer beta and public beta are two different things.

I'm having exactly the same problem. It's really annoying.
