Apple Watch App Crashing

I just got an Apple Watch 3 days ago, and after updating all the iOS software for my phone and the watch, I was able to set it up but realized my alarm didn’t connect,

I went to open the app on my phone so I could fix the settings and the app just crashes before it could actually do anything.

I turned my phone and watch off and on again, nothing
I tried to delete the app, I only set the face so I wasn’t worried about losing any “data” but it won’t let me delete the app, only “move it to App Library”
So I tried to delete it from the App Library but it says to do that I have to “unpair” my watch... which I cannot do because I can’t get into my watch app....

To anyone who comes across this, after 2 hours with Apple tech support, we FINALLY got it figured out.

In the end, I had to back up my phone and reset it. From there, it allowed me to delete the app and repair the watch like new.

Well, I just did that as a last resort after spending half of my birthday struggling with adding new Watch Series 8 and it didn't work. I've tried literally everything.

I’m going through the same issue with the Apple Watch series 8. The Watch app crashes at the Share Settings screen. On occasion it says you need to verify your Apple details, but after entering the password it eventually times out saying cannot verify at this time. If you choose forgot password you then go through a password reset which appears to get you passed this error.

The watch also unpairs as soon as the Watch app crashes. This restarts the Watch in the process.

I have done the following troubleshooting steps:

  1. iOS update to 16.0.3
  2. updated Watch to 9.0.3 (I cannot confirm this as a Google search is not showing an updated result. The watch shipped with 9.0.2 and forced me to update before trying to pair)
  3. Force closed app
  4. removed Watch app, restarted phone, reinstalled Watch app
  5. Signed out of iCloud on both my iPhone and iPad, then signed back in
  6. Attempted to pair the watch without restoring a back
  7. Erased all Settings and Data of iPhone and restored from backup
  8. Erased all Settings and Data of iPhone and did not restore from backup
  9. Force rebooted the watch

Getting rather frustrated as I purchased the series 8 to replace my 18 month old series 6 that is stuck in a boot loop.
