Workarounds for 30% fee

Like many of you, we have a question about using in-app purchases. Our business is essentially a marketplace where creators can sell digital goods to users. We would like to have our App have an online purchasing system using Apple's in-app purchases where we transfer the full payment from the user to the creator. As far as we understand it though, there is no way to do this within an App without transferring 30% of the fee to Apple. This makes the economics of our business either extremely problematic or completely impossible however. Does anybody have any examples of Apps that are approved by Apple that use in-app purchases and fully comply with Apple’s rules, but manages to send the full payment to creators? We don’t believe that there is any option to do this, but we would like to explore all options.

In that example, I think you should avoid using a mobile app altogether, and instead go web based with HTML5 content and a 3rd party payment system. You may still incur fees/expenses, but they shouldn't be in the 30% range.
