Xcode phone display

Hey.
I am new to Xcode and I wanted to ask how do I choose the 5.8 inch iPhone view.
I can see that the options are: iPhone 11, 11 Pro max, 12 mini, 12, 12 pro and 12 pro max. But none of them are with the 5.8 inch display as 11 pro/xs/x.
Is it XCode 12 ?

When you display storyboard, you should see at the bottom a few buttons.
On the left : "Devices"
When you click on this button, you get a long list of devices.
What is your list presently ?

If it does not contain the one you want, add new simulators.
At the top left of XCode window, click on the name of present device.
You'll get a menu item with "add new simulators"
I am using XCode 12.3
And yeah I can see the iPhone 11 pro (5.8 inch display) on the simulator.
But in the storyboard I can't see any 5.6 inch display device.
I have iPhone 4S, SE, iPhone 8 plus, iPhone 11, iPhone 11 pro max, iPhone 12 mini, 12, 12 Pro and 12 Pro max.
But none of them has the 5.8 size.
I don't understand your question:

But in the storyboard I can't see any 5.6 inch display device.

  • which device should be 5.6"" ? I don't know any.

  • Do you mean you look for 5.8" (not 5.6) ?

  • Did you try adding simulator (maybe you have to download first): you can install iPhone X, XS, all with 5.8".

  • Why do you need to display by screen physical size ? Only the resolution may matter, as far as Xcode is concerned.

Hi Michel, did you find the answer? in xcode 12.5 still no iphone 11 pro on the view for the storyboard..

Same problem with xcode 12.5. Seems there is no option for 5.8 inch screens. 8plus should be working but actually it didn't.
