Multicast Networking Entitlement for Enterprise distribution

Our AppStore app uses mDNS to discover other devices on the local network using BSD sockets, so have made the request for the special entitlement com.apple.developer.networking.multicast using the "Multicast Networking Entitlement Request Form".

We hope to hear back from that request shortly.

But for the same app, which we Test and Trial internally on Employees, does anyone know how we request the same entitlement for our InHouse Distributed Enterprise Team?

When setting up the App Identifier in our Enterprise Team we don't even get the section at the bottom for "Additional Capabilities". We just have the list of standard "Capabilities" and Deployment Details (Optional), and the request form mentioned above asks for App Store URL which obviously doesn't apply here.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Special entitlements are assigned on a team-by-team basis. If you have two teams — one you use for the App Store and another you use for enterprise distribution — you’ll need to request the entitlement for both.

There is no single policy here. Some special entitlements can be granted to enterprise teams and some can’t. I don’t know what the policy is for the multicast entitlement, so I’m going to recommend that you ask and see what you get back.

I am having the same issue with our enterprise account app. I tried to submit multicast special entitlement to apple, but it ask an App store url which we don't have with the enterprise app.

OK, two things:

Long term Apple would like to move folks away from enterprise distribution and into the custom app model. This isn’t really my field, but I did watch WWDC 2020 Session 10667 Custom app distribution with Apple Business Manager and it’s most interesting.
Regardless of that, don’t let the absence of an App Store URL stop you. See my comments on this thread.
