Since iOS 14.5 the date field on a website shows input in international format, even if German localization and German language is selected in the iPhone settings. Same with iPadOS 14.5

The date picker shows up in German localization. After selecting the date in the picker, the displayed format in the date field is „May 2, 2021“. The expected format would be „02.05.2021″, which was displayed in iOS & iPadOS 14.4.2 correctly.

Any workaround for this? Or is it a bug?

The page I need help with is a client project that has not yet launched. Therefore, unfortunately, I cannot link it.

To be sure about whether this is a bug in iOS and iPadOS 14.5 or not, it would be good to see some sample code that you are using to format the date/time. Can you share some some code or a sample project also file a bug report via Feedback Assistant and share the Feeback ID? Thanks!

compare this in Safari under iOS 14.5 and iOS 14.4.2 (or compare it in iPadOS 14.5 and Safari 14.1 on MacOS 10.15.7)

Hi!

Same thing happens for me.
The website's time input field shows 12Hours format against the phone locale settings.
My solution was:
Settings>General>Date & Time>24-Hour Time == OFF !
then set it ON again.
But, this is a temporary result, when I load the same page again, the time-format set back to 12H.

We tried it two different phones (iPhone X and Iphone11), and with Firefox app we got same result.

So, we can say: this is a bug...
