Guideline 4.2.3 - Design - Minimum Functionality & Internet Resources Matters

Hi there,

I am designing an AR application that is content-based.
Our system includes the app and a web server that streams the content through the internet or gives the user the choice to download it.

This means that use of the internet is obligatory (either to stream or download content) at some point and without internet access, the app is completely useless and the only thing you can do is browse through the instructions menu.

Is this way of function a "Guideline 4.2.3 "breaker"? and my application will not be accepted to the AppStore?
or
It is OK,
as long as I comply with some requirements (eg. inform the user of 2 options in content launching, alert the user to switch on internet access at a specific point, etc.)
and if so, what are the most important?

Thank you.

While I don’t work for App Review and thus can’t give you definitive answers about their policy, I will point out that there are many apps in the App Store that require the Internet to do anything useful.

Thank you "Eskimo" for your answer, that was what I had in mind.

Nevertheless, If anyone can verify this, or add more data to the subject, it would be appreciated a lot.

Thanks again.
