"In Review" delays lasting about a week per update on the Mac App Store

For the past few weeks, I've noticed a strong delay on the Mac App Store when it comes to the review process.

More specifically, new apps — and even updates to existing apps — are getting stuck "In Review" for about a week at a time, then getting approved as if nothing happened.

This issue is only apparent on the Mac App Store, and not on the iOS store.

Anyone else experiencing these kinds of delays recently?

Thanks!

That may well be that with the release of iOS 15 a lot of us are uploading new version of their apps. Creating a large backlog.

  • I would say that could be true, however the iOS app updates I submitted around the same time got accepted within half a day. It only seems to be an issue on the Mac.

It’s not that they have so many apps for iOS 15. I have an app that I had to upgrade and it got reviewed the same day. On the other hand I have a new app and it’s been stuck for over 2 weeks, I self rejected now because new features came but it went to review again and nothing happened… emailed apple multiple times even the speed up review email and status one and no response. This is a monopoly… if only users could download the apps on iphones like android…

  • Did you get your app released ultimately? I have a similar problem and I am trying to understand what to do.
