Determining transaction fees

I'm a student and someone has asked me to build them an app. I should be capable although I need to determine Apple’s fees on transactions within the app.

It's for a Fitness Personal Trainer. She wants to accept bookings and payments within her app. It’s a free app although I’m struggling to determine if Apple takes a cut when a client books in with her. Is it free because it’s a physical service or does it fall under the 30%/15%?

It sounds like "the services are delivered outside the app".

This means that you cannot use in-app purchase, and there are no transaction fees to consider.

BUT - what are you going to do to make the app justify actually being an app? Apple do reject apps that could simply be websites.

Thanks. Agreed, the service are delivered “outside the app” nothing is digital so it appears there are no transaction fees.

The app will have some small features that will be unfriendly on a website - chat, a stopwatch, record keeping - to name a few.

This will be my first time submitting an app for publication. If you have any suggestions on what would make it likely to pass, please let me know.

Thanks again
