Using Stripe for In App Purchases in iOS

Hello,

We are developing a mobile app and we are planning to add premium content to the app. The content is a series of videos (digital content) that the user will get access to once they purchase a subscription. Now, will Apple allow us to use Stripe for this subscription or we MUST use the apple in-app purchases for payment? We need to know this before we decide on the implementation plan. Referring to this: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1MB5sYk3S2uhxvPPBTkgZLdnQyf68aH6a/view?usp=sharing

Please give us a clear answer if we will end up with an issue if we are going with STRIPE or not.

Regards, Yousaf Iqbal

Same question there. Did you figure it out ?

Hi,

For any unlocking of digital content inside your app, you need to implement IAP and use StoreKit2. Use Stripe or Apple Pay when your app offers a hardware product(e.g., food or any digital content used outside of the app). For subscription or any digital unlocking features, you have to use IAP.

Apple will handle all your transactions, and Apple deducts its 15–30% fee per App Store rules. Net proceeds are paid monthly via bank transfer to the account specified in App Store Connect’s Agreements, Tax & Banking section.
