Why do I get an error when I choose the Stickers category on App Store Connect?

Hi,

I want to submit a Sticker Pack to the App Store, but I get an error saying the "field is invalid" when I try to choose the Stickers category on App Store Connect. Does anyone know why this is happening or how to resolve it?

Hi everyone. I had the same problem before I uploaded a new stickers app build.

TL;DR You need to upload your app's build BEFORE choosing "Stickers" category.

Basically when you create your application Apple does not know if it's going to be for iMessage and does not allow you to use "Stickers" as a category. The error text they actually return (you can see it in your browser's Network tab) is: "You can't select the stickers category unless your app is made exclusively for iMessage."

Once I submitted a new Stickers App build and chose it under "Build" section at "iOS App" page - I was able to set "Stickers" as a category.
