Is it possible to deploy a custom app though AEM/MDM and User Enrolment onto non-enterpise devices (BYOD) also in other countries? (meaning that e.g. the AEM account is in one country and the user that needs to install the app is located in another country)

Or asked differently: When using User Enrolment for MDM, the user registers with a Managed Apple ID provided via ABM. Can the user then download a custom app that was made available via ABM in country A, even if his personal/private Apple ID is registered to country B?

The important fact here is that the custom app is NOT available in the App Store corresponding to the user’s Apple ID. The ABM admin would need to make the custom app available in country B for the install to work.

Hi, thank you for the swift reply!

I thought that to deploy custom apps via ABM they don't need to be in the App Store. Are you saying that even when using the "Private" app distribution mode (in App Store Connect under "Pricing and Availability" choosing "Private – Available as a custom app on Apple Business Manager or Apple School Manager") the app still has to go through app review and enter the "normal" App Store?

I'm referring to the process descibed in https://developer.apple.com/support/volume-purchase-and-custom-apps/ under "Making a Custom App Available Only to Specific Organizations"

It was my understanding that when using User Enrolment for MDM, the user actually then has TWO Apple IDs. His/her personal Apple ID and the Managed Apple ID provided by the company running the ABM - is that not so?

So when you say "the user’s Apple ID", are you referring to the users "private" Apple ID or the users "business" Apple ID?
