I am currently experimenting with Web Push to send a push notification to users. However, I noticed that the notification only uses the default sound provided by the system. Ideally, I want to offer the functionality to play a custom notification sound, so that the web app notifications have a distinct sound that can be recognized even when the phone is not actively used. Is there a way to specify a custom sound, either from the app code itself, or for the user in the settings. Note that I am using iOS 17.0 build 21A5312c

The web standards for Notification options don't include a way to specify a custom sound.
But also, web standards are never done evolving!
I just looked at the list of issues for that standard and didn't notice this request anywhere. That would be a great place to file this request!
