Apple Push Notification service server certificate

Hi, With the upcoming changes to the Apple Push Notification service (APNs) server certificates — including the SHA-2 Root: USERTrust RSA Certification Authority certificate update — I wanted to clarify if we need to take any action with Salesforce.

I can't presume to know what your relationship or agreement with Salesforce is.

If you are in any way responsible for a server sending pushes and connecting directly to APNs, then you have to take action.

If Salesforce is your push service provider, and they are the ones directly sending pushes, then you need to check with them.

It is ultimately your responsibility to confirm this with your push provider to make sure your production pushes are not interrupted.

I don't know if this helps you.

I have just raised a support ticket with Apple regarding this. I have noticed that Apple have not changed the certificates for the Sandbox environment yet. That was set to happen weeks ago and we only have 8 days before the production is changed.

Correcting myself. The certificate Apple are sending is an intermediate that chains back to UserTrust and I think that is in the email they have sent. Apologies for any red herring there.
