Managed To Brick iPhone

Did all that was asked to install, now iphone bricked. Any one else hav an issue?

Nope still have that issue unfortunately, but for those who are wondering yes you can use your Vodafone sim on your iPhone running iOS 11 just don’t turn data on as this is will make your iPhone crash...

Has anyone tried deleting the Vodafone profile that’s installed and see if that makes a difference? Can’t imagine it does but maybe worth a shot. im back on 10.3 now so can’t test.

I deleted this profile as soon as Vodafone forced it onto my device when I joined the network last year as I believe it wasn’t needed. After deleting it I never had any issues with the mobile network. So stating this, the profile was never on my device when I upgraded to iOS 11 so it doesn’t seem to be a factor. Another long shot, but wonder if there is any difference between PAYG and Monthly Contracts? I know the APN settings are slightly different between the two. I’m currently on a Monthly SIM Only Contract.

I thought my 6S Plus was bricked. I went from a version of iOS 9 to iOS 11 beta. It took forever to update and my phone got very warm. After it was done I could not get the phone to turn on. I tried plugging it into iTunes but got no response. A few hours later I tried plugging it into iTunes again and then the phone started. I could not get past the welcome screen that asked for my Apple ID and password. After entering my password it would eventually reboot. After a few more hours of mostly ignoring the phone I finally got to a home screen but it was unusable. After reading all the issues with SIM cards I decided to pull my Verizon sim card out of the phone and all the slowness disappeared. I did not actually have service on this sim card because it is primarily a test device. Putting it back in causes the phone to be unresponsive and eventually reboot as soon as the card is recognized. It seems to act normal if the SIM card is an and celluar is turned off in settings.

I have iPad Mini version 2 that I was using to test. It was painfully slow and would frequently lock up. It rebooted it self twice. Then today it got stuck in this loop where I had attempted to open Feedback and ipad locked up and wouldn't do anything. I did hard reboot and nothing happened. Did this three times and it eventually started. I got feedback report done and it locked up again. Tried a hard reboot and nothing. Reverting it back to 10.3

I've reproduced the error and captured the baseband logs as well as the sysdiagnose logs and uploaded to bug report 32609867

lets hope apple can see what is happening and why, and issue a fix in the forthcoming developer previews.

meanwhile I have no cellular data/mobile data as I have had to turn it off otherwise it crashes instantly, and have to remove sim card, disable cellular data/mobile data, for it to recover

I'll update this thread if I hear anything back from apple

Thanks All

That’s great you managed to reproduce and capture all the logs! Been trying lots of things and have had no luck so far. Hoping Apple get to the bottom of it fast...

I’m on VodafoneUK too and I can only get iOS11 beta 1 to work when I disable/turn off cellular data. As soon as I turn it on it freeze/black screen after a minute. Anyone else with this problem also noticed AppStore not working? It doesn’t on mine and wonder if related or another problem. Thx

I’ve got the issue with Vodafone and need to disable mobile network. However, my App Store has been pretty stable, the only bug I’ve come across is the apps not saying the update button when they have a new update available; although the work around to this is either restart the App Store or just hit update all. What’s the problem with your App Store?

had this too and eventually had to do a restore, although when updating again to the Beta has not happened again

Thank you Tom. Just getting a 'Cannot Connect to App Store'. Some problem with iTunes/Apple Music. I've just tried to log out then log back in again but it's no longer logging in. Type username/password but still logged out. Sounds like this is a separate issue and will look for answer to this in another thread. Don't want to clog this thread with other issues. Thx

I was able to install and use iOS 11 Beta 1 on my iPad Pro 9.7 without a problem for a couple days, but, after leaving it charging last night, I found it stuck on the Apple logo boot screen.

I had to DFU (connect to iTunes, press home and power button until iTunes connection screen shows up) and restore to iOS 10.3.2. Now it is back to functional.

I'll probably wait for the public beta before attempting to reinstal it again.

Exactly the same. After a while the iPad just became unresponsive. I thought "Ok sure, Let's reboot it's a beta after all" then it was stuck in the Apple Logo Boot Screen.

DFU Mode and restored to 10.3.2. I know it's my dev iPad and I still have another one but I am not about to brick a $400+ device just for the sake of a early beta.

Luckily I haven't had any major issues besides small slowdowns on my iPhone 6 but I am considering restoring there too seeing as I definitely don't want to brick that one 😝

Same goes here. iPad was working fine, then came home from work and the kids said it was dead. Assumed it was the battery or something but no just stuck on the apple logo.

Jumped to DFU mode right away and was getting 4014 error for hardware issue along the line. Tired multiple cables, nothing.

Figured I would try restore mode with the same cables same mac pro, and it worked. Not sure what was going on with the cable but back down to 10.3.2 for now on the ipad.

More confused as to why DFU mode would be tossing out the 4014 error.

All - Try Beta 2 - as at least on my phone it is now working with a Vodafone sim card...
