how do I distribute my app to a limited audience?

I have a business app I've developed for a niche market. I would like to distibute it to friends and customers. It would be pointless for non-clients or a broad audience to own this app. While I can envisage a broader audience, right now it is my first successful app on ios, is not designed to be pretty, and I have no idea what standards if any it is supposed to adhere to. I just know it works - telling my clients how much money they've made this month. Who cares if it doesn't swoosh and slurp like Candy Crush if it's bearing good news.

I've read about AppStore, AdHoc, Enterprise and a couple of others, but it's not strictly 'beta testing', not inside 'my' enterprise (my sofa), it's just an app that clients and customers will find useful.

What are my options? God forbid that Apple could allow something as simple as Windows, letting us deploy apps as we see fit...

In the worst case, I'll end up going via AppStore, no doubt enduring a difficult 'not nice enough yet' transition, only to release an App that was never intended for a wide audience. To me, that seems bizarre... but then again, I'm new to the Apple world...

Apple does not provide a casual method of distribution (vs. testing).

If you can get it into the store, however, you might be able to use Apple's VPP/B2B Program.

If you do not upload App Store, it needs iOS business certificate signature application can be distributed.
