My app is in "Waiting for review" for 10 days

Hi,

Hi have released a new app on May 12th, that got reviewed and approved fairly fast (3 days after a single iteration for meta data content). On May 15th, I uploaded an update on the app, improving some feedback and user experience on one of the key features of it. I was expecting a similar delay (1-3 days) but it has been 10 already, and I have not had any contact from apple.

My app is related with the World Cup, starting in 15 days, and this delay is working against it ... as I cannot market the app properly until it has the desired update.

Is there anyway of getting an answer from Apple on the reason why the review is taking so long?

This is quite frustrating. I got back a small detail with the screenshoots on my previous update, 10 days after I submitted my app update for review. And now it has been 3 days since I corrected the metadata (screenshoots) on my app, I am still waiting.

I had a good experience the very first time I submitted my app, but then the 1st update on it it has takend 14 days already, and it is really frustrating, more when the rejection reason is a metadata issue, that I understand I need to correct, but if I need to wait another 10 days after each iteration this really harms my app market (and I guess any new app developer may be in a similar situation).

If you are facing extenuating circumstances, such as fixing a critical bug or releasing your app to coincide with an event, you may consider requesting an expedited review. Expedited reviews are granted on a limited basis and we cannot guarantee that every request will be expedited.

Thanks for your answer, I understand and knew about the expedited reviews. I also understand that it has to be "a special case", and if my every update I will ask for an expedited review, then by the time I really need it it wont be granted to me. My app is a world cup related app, so, if a bug happens during or right before it, I would really need an expedited review, and then I do not want to harm the chances of getting one by requesting it now, even though, I could use one now also cause the situation is harming the marketing of my app really bad. Also, as I have been waiting this long already, it feels that the review "should arrive at any time" and then that would also be a "waste" of an expedite review.

It is still frustrating not to know what parameters apple use to "queue" the reviews, as it is definitely first come first server (I have colleagues that have submitted their app, and had 3 rejections, solve their issues and got their update approved all in the last 5 days while I am still waiting for my review to go through ....)
