Is it no longer possible in Xcode 27.1 to run/debug Apps on an iPhone X?

I've still an old iPhone X (running iOS 16.7.16) and like to also use this to test/debug my Apps, but it seems that XCode 27.1 does no longer support it. The device simply does not show up in the new Device Hub.

I still have some App-specific data on this device, which I would like to use for the tests, but as XCode now ignores this device, I can't even copy the data over to the newer devices.

Is it somhoe possible to add the device to the device Hub, or make it available to XCode so I can actually test on this device as well?

Yes, that explains why it disappeared. Xcode 27.1 supports device debugging on iOS 17 and later, so it will not debug an iPhone X on iOS 16.7.16. Apple lists Xcode 26.6 as supporting iOS 15 and later. You can keep both Xcode versions installed and use 26.6 for this phone, as long as your Mac meets its macOS 26.2 requirement.

For the app data, Xcode does not provide a way to copy a single app’s private data folder to another phone. Check whether the app has its own export or sync feature. A Finder backup and full restore may carry the data over, but it restores the device as a whole.

Thanks, that's what I feared. Hopefully the older XCode does not get in conflict with the newest Version. And of course this will nevertheless fail if the App that I want to debug needs SDK versions (like for latest for the iPhone Duo) which the older XCode version does not support. So this might only work for Apps which do not need the latest SDKs

BTW: XCode is able to export and import the Apps folder to/from the Mac. And this way you are able to migrate it between phones (though only for your own Apps). This is very handy if you have existing data from an App and use this on a new device or in a new simulator without having to create evertyhing from scratch again.

In the latest XCode version this option has moved to the new Device Hub: Select your device, then in the "inspector" sidebar at the right click on "(i)" and use the contectual menu on your App to "download" or "replace" the App container with all the files of the App.
