Apple Watch can't connect to server after is iOS 9 beta 3 update

Just wondering if anyone else is having the same issue. After updatting to Beta 3 for ios 9, my Apple Watch can't connect to my Apple ID. After turning off iMessage, I was able to finally get the watch to pair. However I now want to update the Apple Watch OS to version 3 and the Apple Watch app keeps saying that it can't connect to my Apple ID. I go into settings on the watch app and try to sign in, but keep getting "Cannot Connect To Server"

Is there a way to fix this or a way to download the new beta version for Apple Watch that's not through the Watch app as to sidestep this issue? I'm hoping that if it's able to update the OS, then I can connect the watch to my Apple ID again.

I would try erasing all content and settings, the re-pairing the watch and restoring from a backup. It takes a good bit of time, but in all likelyhood it will fix the issue.

Ok cool, I'll give that a shot and update on if it worked or not

I am having this problem as well... I also cannot get my apple watch to pair after updating to beta 3 (couldnt pair with beta 2 either). I erased it thinking that I could pair it from scratch with no luck (it pairs but wont get past the apple id login screens). I have tried to set up and a new watch and restore from both watchos 1 and watchos 2 backups... Also no luck. I think I will now take my iPhone back to beta 1 and pair it and then go through the updates again. Im honestly about to just take my watch to an apple store and have them get me back to watchos 1 (even though I hear they charge for this service) and then just use the xcode simulator for development work. I have had nothing but problems with the watchos betas and i kinda miss having a working watch... And yes I know I should have a seperate watch for development... buuuuuuuuut I dont 😝

I also have this problem, both when setting the "pairing in process" watch as a new watch, or as restoring from backup. It clearly cannot connect. I tried using LTE instead of WiFi, no avail.

The Apple watch App on the iPhone cannot connect for some reason.

Thanks for the tip about turning off iMessages. I'll go try that.

It definitely does not feel like a problem with the watch. The problem occurs inside the Apple Watch App on the iPhone, when the iPhone App is trying to validate the AppleID password.

Doesn't seem like wiping out the watch again would help this.

Just wanted to update that turning off iMessages worked for me to get the watch paried. However I still cant get it to update to beta 3 successfully. I will keep trying and report back if I have any success.

Turned off iMessage - no luck pairing. Won't connect to server

It does appear to be iMessage issue in Apple Watch app.

On your iPhone, turn off iMessage in Settings > Messages

On the Watch, when you get asked for a password for iCloud, click Skip this Step. The Watch will complete the steps necessary for pairing.

The watch app does not seem to be able to connect to iCloud AT ALL.

Hey! I unpaired the watch and restored my iPhone as a new one with iOS9 Beta 3, then pair the devices together again. Everything works fine now! No problem recognizing my Apple ID. Also I had problems with my messages (no anwser button, etc.) and everything works fine now.

Exact same issue. Watch has become an expensive paperweight :(

I tried unpairing the watch and restoring iPhone 6 as new and repairing. Same server problem. Your solution did not work for me, unfortuantely. Really frustrated that my watch is completely non-functional. Aren't the Betas supposed to progress and not digress in performance? I did not have this problem with either of the previous beta versions.

Turning off iMessages allowed me to at least get the watch working again with an iPhone 6 running Beta 3. I will try to update watch to Beta 3 now, and see if that will straighten everything out.

For those who cannot pair their Apple Watch, curious to know if you've set up two step verification on your Apple ID. I had it set up on my personal Apple ID and had the 'could not connect to server' issue however on my work ID (without two step verification) I was able to set up the watch without issue.

This worked for me.

Made sure the profile was installed on both phone and watch.

Disabled iMessage on iPhone.

Upgraded Watch to beta 3.

Skipped the AppleID verification.

Completed the WatchOS2 beta 3 upgrade.

Enabled iMessage on iPhone.

Added/verified AppleID on the Watch App on the phone.

Your method worked well for me. My only issue is I cannot upgrade to the newest Watch OS Beta.

Thanks for the input!
