Apple Watch can't connect to server after is iOS 9 beta 3 update

Just wondering if anyone else is having the same issue. After updatting to Beta 3 for ios 9, my Apple Watch can't connect to my Apple ID. After turning off iMessage, I was able to finally get the watch to pair. However I now want to update the Apple Watch OS to version 3 and the Apple Watch app keeps saying that it can't connect to my Apple ID. I go into settings on the watch app and try to sign in, but keep getting "Cannot Connect To Server"

Is there a way to fix this or a way to download the new beta version for Apple Watch that's not through the Watch app as to sidestep this issue? I'm hoping that if it's able to update the OS, then I can connect the watch to my Apple ID again.

It works at last for me and I was able to update to Beta 3, just by disabling the iMessage and skipping Apple ID in the AppleWatch pairing. Thanks guys,

I was having this problem as well. On beta 2 I had to set everything up as new (which is not ideal).

Luckily with beta 3 I was able to get it paired by doing the following:

  1. Removing the paired Apple Watch in the app on the iPhone
  2. Reset the Apple Watch, start pairing process
  3. Toggle the Bluetooth off and on on the iPhone
  4. Pair as normal (I was able to restore from backup which was really nice).

I have no clue if step 3 did anything, but I had the same issue as with beta 2 until I did that. Hopefully this works for others.

Thanks!! Your method worked well for me!

thx for the tip turning off imessage ➕ until apple will fix that, it is possible to connect the watch... 😎

It's becoming really apparent that Apple have issues with their releases. Beta or not; the stuff they are putting out should not have been released with some of the issues they are having. There seems to be minimal QA being done in builds You need to get your house in order Apple cos you're going to just alienate and lose a shed load of beta testers.

All, Before jumping down on Apple for Beta software please read the release notes to see what you are getting into. The pairing issue was in the notes alone with the solution - just as we are testing so are they and part of that is isolating issues bu flipping switches on feature sets, etc. Here is a link to the notes: https://developer.apple.com/library/prerelease/watchos/releasenotes/General/RN-watchOSSDK-2.0/index.html Known Issue Pairing iOS 9 beta 3 with watchOS 2 beta 1 or 2 requires you to sign out of your AppleID in Messages prior to pairing and to skip iCloud sign-in during pairing. Pairing with watchOS 2 beta 3 and WatchOS 1 is not impacted. Tapping Cancel does not work in the iForgot work flows in Watch Setup Assistant. They understand it is frustrating too. Like others here I don't have a separate device for development so my primary is is and we need to live through feature issues.

Switching off iMessage and skipping the apple id sign in part allowed me to progress past the agree to terms message (it would hang for me). Did I also need to skip the apple id sign-in part? I don't know as I never tried that variation. Its remarkable that someone figured out the iMessage aspect of the problem. Glad I came here for help!

Thank you so much. We are all lucky to utilize these developer updates. They are instrumental in assisting Apple in working out issues with their new software. I was frustrated as well, yet I knew that when I had a minute to utilize the correct resource, I would certainly find the sollution. Keep up the great work!

There is no way to skip the iMessage part of the pairing process currently.

So since it also authenticates with Apple ID you are stuck.

Turning off iMessages removes this screen and allows you to skip the Apple ID part and complete pairing.

Main issue with the new bata is updating the profile which is why I reset my watch to see if that fixed it.

Fingers crossed once it resets the profile will work and I can pull down the latest WatchOS 2 Beta update.

Thanks for all the help getting this sorted out

I'm having the same issues and noted that when you try a manual pairing the code it asks for is 6 digit, but the code the phone supplies is only 5 digit. I think this is the crux of the issue.....
