Reply to iOS 9 Beta battery life
I updated my iPhone 5S on monday night. I agree with everyone, battery life was horrible. I woke up this morning with 100% and 3 hours so far only lost 9%. with 43 minutes of usage. So it seems, that like early in this post, Siri might be indexing because my battery life has seemed to improve since I've updated.

Reply to iOS 9 Beta battery life
Thanks, just shut down iCloud drive. my usage was Mail Background Activity and Home & Lock Screen. Phone running hot and battery draining. I was using Low Power mode (in Battery in Settings) which ran a bit cooler and maybe preserved battery life but still was draining very quickly. However, my apps that use SpriteKit and SceneKit ran so much faster now that they use Metal (recompiled in XCode Beta) that I'm in awe! I still want my battery life back though. 👿 Seriously, Beta 1.

Or any ideas what might be causing it?ThanksSteve

Battery life sorther in 60% and fan speed is so high
One of the reason I chose MacBook Pro 13 2016 WITHOUT touch bar (MacBook Pro 13” October 2016 without touch bar, i7, 16 Mb 1T SSD) was that the i7 inside runs, normally at 7.5 Watts that means NO FAN noice even under high demand tasks; this was true up today because the fun practically never be on (RPM 0). The fan just only turns on (RPM < 2500) when I have 6 or 7 application open plus Fusion VM ware (that limit the Mac originally 16 Mb of RAM). Since I started ß test, I notice that fan runs at medium speed of 1200 RPM (fortunately you do not leasing it) despite the fact that the banks still cool (34 to 44 Celsius degrees) and Activity Monitor shows that 83% of the processor is in idle mode. Opening Safari this fun speed can rise up to RPM 4700 making my lovely Mac intolerable. The FAN is running all day, completelly diferent form macOS Sierra where fun speed it is RPM 0 most of the time. Close related with this, one of the beauties of my mac was that the battery use to live more than 10hs. withou

Reply to Apple Pencil battery %
I can confirm Spiv's solution worked for me. In Beta 3 the Batteries widget refused to show and I could no longer use the pencil. I followed the suggestions Spiv made and got it all working fine again for me now.

Will Apple Pencil work with all iOS devices or just the iPad Pro?
I'm looking for a new very accurate stylus for my iPad Mini. Will the Apple Pencil work on all iOS devices or is it exclusively made for the iPad Pro. If it won't work, what are some good (and accurate) styluses for precision note taking?

Try turning off the Hey Siri feature. It saved me a lot of battery life.

Make sure the watch is at 100% battery life and on the charger. Seemed to work for me after doing that.
