identityservices high utilization affecting iMessage and battery life
Seems this service is causing hellfire for my phone right now (iPhone 6s + on TMobile) running iOS 10 (14A5261v). Cant open the iMessage settings and iMessage will start out the day working as intended but start to fail later in the day. The service shows 99-100 utilization in Instruments and ~32:17.964 of CPU time.I tried to go through and sign out of a bunch of services:iCloud - (takes forever but eventually does sign out)iTunes/App Store - (same as above)iMessage - cant because wont let me get into the settings to sign outFaceTime - finally got in to sign outHomesharing - Not signed inFacebook - Signed outTwitter - Signed outVimeo - dont haveFlickr - dont haveSpotify - dont haveand service is still crazy. Any other ways to stop/reset the service to have it be refreshed like new? I restart the phone frequently and it doesnt do anything. Any other ideas? Putting in a bug report as well.

Reply to Request WiFi connection to iPhone instead of BT?
During the WWDC sessions it was made clear that apple is going to determine when it is approprate to use Wifi and when it going to use bluetooth. My guess is that Apple is taking battery life into account heavily and for high bandwidth applications will either automatically switch to wifi or will recommend some type of background data transfer instead. I think it would be wise to note that saturating the wifi on the apple watch would liekly drain its battery very quickly and if possible I would consider ways of limiting the bandwidth you send to the watch. Ultimately do anything and everything you can in the iOS companion app.

Does Pencil generate proximity events?
In OS X NSEvents are generated when the pen is close to the surface already, so a program knows where the pen is before it actualy touches the surface. Windows works the same. AFAICS iOS doesn't: looks like UITouch events aren't generated until the Pencil actually touches the screen. Is this corrrect?

Pencil & Magic Keyboard
I have had my Ipad for about 3 1/2 years- all of a sudden the pen stopped working- I did all the things, removed it, re connected it, turned everything off, and then on again, I even have a total of 3 pencils-none of them worked. but the ipad recognized it-said it was at 100% and that it was connected. The ONLY thing that I found out finally worked was when I removed my Ipad from the magic keyboard, reconnected the pencil, then I could put it back on the keyboard. but now, anytime I close the keyboard up, then go back and reopen it, I have to go through the same thing..The pencil will not work again. Any suggestions?

Reply to iOS 9 Beta battery life
Yes my battery life on my iPhone 6 is terrible on iOS 9. As another person said it is mostly from the home/lock screen.

Reply to The battery is drained a lot faster on iOS 11
It’s because of the Beta. Some processes tend to use more battery as other users hve posted in the past days. Usually battery life with beta’s is poor. Wait a few weeks until they discover what the cause is and they will eventually patch and fix it.

Reply to iOS 14 Beta Battery drain on iPhone 6s
I have phone 11 pro Max and facing the same issue after upgrading to ios 14 official resales. I have noticed that Apple health app is consuming 30+% of battery life almost everyday though the screen time for that app is only 30 min!

Reply to Great battery life iOS 10 Beta 4
Definitely agree with this - I'm using Spotify and this beta has massively worse battery life (compared to usal and the previous betas) so far when I use it

Reply to Using Pencil with iOS 10 beta 1
Turns out it was my pencil. Tested it at an Apple store, and the pencil was not recognized by a new ipad. Replacement on it's way.

Oh wow, the battery life on a MacBook is absolutely terrible on video capture apps because of this. Did anyone find a way to disable it yet?
